RCMP mail scaring my GF

If you are new to shooting a handgun, you probably won't be able to tell the accuracy difference of 25 cent ammo and 75 cent ammo.

Buy a box of several cheap offerings (including commercial re-loads) and try them all to make sure they all feed and extract ok. Then buy the cheapest that works.

Tell your gf that the letters are nothing to worry about, but it is the numerous rules to be met, that others have mentioned, which can lead you to a costly legal process. You are considered a threat to society as a gun owner.

I do not think any of this has a thing to do with guilty conscience as one member insinuated, but rather govt induced paranoia among gun owners.

I shoot alot of a winchester forged and I can pretty much guarantee if your just starting out that ammo isn't going to be the cause of pulled shots. Buy whatever you can for cheap (tenda) and practice as much as your bank account allows.

No, but I had a lot of misfeeds and jams; it is crap. Maxxtech; to many overloads. Blazzer Brass is your best bet, and save your brass because if you shoot a lot, you will want to reload. Steel casings are crap for reloading.

Wait until you have a large collection of restricted..... Then ask for new certs..... comical.

Back in the days of the long gun registry I had asked for new coppies of my certs. 30 guns in total.... Canada post delivery guy must have lost his ####.... 30 Identical envelopes from he RCMP all in one day. I used to have a picture of all the envelopes... pretty comical.

I haven't had any problems shooting any factory ammo or reloads from CRS through my M&P9. I've shot blazer, federal, s&b, and something else iirc. I find I get the best accuracy from 124gr loads but 115gr shoots pretty well also, it's a fun gun I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Take a pistol class if you can, it will make shooting it more enjoyable. Silvercore level 1 & 2 pistol classes will teach you some useful skills.

When you asked were they compliant in sending new ones or upset you asked. I am thinking of changing the way I handle my certs and getting new ones would be helpful.

Should be no issue getting a mass stack of new certs. The person on the phone doesn't hand write them, its just a few clicks of the button and the computers automatically generate the rest.

Sending 30 different envelopes is asinine. The registration papers are formatted to give at least 4, possibly 6 certificates per page, and there is nothing wrong with putting multiple pages in one envelope.

A friend had his sent. They came in a single envelope with some of the certs split between pages. Needless to say he was less than impressed.

Yes but what would the other workers do while they watched their co worker fill one envelope with six pages of certificates. You just got to get with the program. We can't have gov't workers standing around doing nothing ya know. You should be around the Miramichiwhen a light bulb goes out :>)

Getting the second card seems pretty stupid after buying your first firearm, it's not like anything changed with your conditions or licensing in that time. Although when I called for an explanation I didn't sit on hold and the lady was very helpful, so at least there's that.

I call the CFC once a year and ask them to send me a new copy of all of my restricted/prohibited certs, just to make sure nothing has either fallen off or been added to the system (both of those have happened in the past). In 10-15 days I get somewhere between 12 and 20 envelopes - they can't standardize on how many certs go in an envelope, some have 2 and some have 6 or 7.

My wife just shakes her head...
