Whats the difference if im drunk in the bush, Vegas or at home ? I actually prefer drinking around a camp fire and hearing the wildlife and the bonus is if you do something stupid you become lunch meet for the wildlife...lol...

But the group of disgruntled individual I hunt with will kick your ass and gun tape you in your fart sack if you do sumtin stupid.

So what was it like being gun taped into your fart sack? :)

Just go with it :) Degeneracy is a natural part of the cycle every prosperous civilization goes through.

There is lots of negative posting about the use of cannabis at the hunt camp, and a lot of the negativity comes from people who have never tried it, or know nothing about the effects of the drug on a regular user. To compare cannabis to alcohol is like trying to say that asprin is the same as LSD, their both drugs but with far different affects. The affects of alcohol and cannabis are like the difference between day and night.
I don't think anyone needs cannabis or alcohol to have a good time, but the two should not be compared.

^^^Ya, right. There are many responsible smokers, just as there are many responsible drinkers. All types, in either crowd.

I agree that in my experience most people are responsible with their drinking and smoking. If there was a serious abuser at our camp I wouldn't tolerate it.

No booze or drugs in our camps. No place for that stuff in the presence of firearms.

I can agree with this statement if you are intending to use them, ie. before hunting or shooting. However saying no drinking around firearms probably means you shouldn't be drinking at home either which is kinda like saying if you own firearms you should never drink as you may have access to them. Slippery slope yadayada....

Indeed... Like you can't have a beer with dinner at a hunt camp? It really is starting to sound like a children's Bible camp lol

I can name at least 10 people that I went to high school with 15 years ago that were pot smokers and they all have one thing in common, low income. Not saying it was directly due to the weed but some still live with their folks and doodle cartoons all day and still talk about skateboarding as if they're still in high school. Others have entry level jobs in the same small town where we grew up and poor families and as far as I know they all still get high. I'm not exactly against pot but I don't smoke it either. I just always think of this same group of "kids" that are stoners and I can't help but link their lack of success with their drug use. And yes I drink alcohol.

And this is exactly the problem. Stereotyping. That isn't a personal shot at you either. Its a societal issue. Does every person who drinks go home and beat their family? No, they don't. That logic cannot be applied.
What's everyone going to do when they find out their physicians, teachers, lawyers, emergency responders, your boss etc are among the demographic that smoke marijuana, and have the whole time? Not everyone who smoked weed in highschool is stuck on the skateboard or cartoons for their whole life, many are very very successful. Of course I dont advocate for being impaired while using firearms or hunting, exactly the opposite. But to assume someone is a moron forever because they smoke weed? Come on.
Each hunting camp will have their own rules, as does mine, and I respect them or I dont hunt there. Fortunately for me, I am not treated like a child who cant be responsible enough to make sound decisions on my own behalf.

Sure didnt take long for this to jump the shark. But with the amount of obviously uninformed posts not surprising and was just a matter of time.

Teacher, class 1 truck driver, electrician, hydraulics specialist, biomedical engineer, electronic engineer, department manager at a grocery store... Those are some of the jobs my friends have. None of them are low income. Half of them have mortgages. One of my friends lives at home, but he's taking care of his dad who lost a leg and now needs dialysis 3 times a week.

Myself, I just graduated university with a bachelor's of science. Like all stereotypes, this one certainly applies to some people, but it's far from representative of everyone.

Thing is, most have grown up and discarded what is a bad habit, like the incessant chewing of gum, that used to pervade society. :) My mechanic is a die hard pot head and it tells, you can pick them out in a crowd.

When I was getting my med cert in 2015, 50% (yes, 1/2) of the people waiting to do the same, were women 45-60. 40 years of arthritis or other ailments males may don't fully understand, have NOT been helped by prescription drugs. Prescription drugs are hard on the organs that have to process, like liver and kidneys.

And not all these young slackers are doing pot, all the time. The come by it honestly and are just the product of their parents and our educational system.

There are plenty of high functioning people who smoke daily...
Maybe not the vast majority... but like anything there are people who can handle it...
