Marihuana at Hunting Camp.

Umm, I don't smoke pot. Tried it once many years ago and it made the beer taste like crap, made me paranoid and put me to sleep.

It's kinda like the muslim terrorist thing. Not all stoners are hippies, but all hippies are stoners. ;)
 
This concept of hunt camps is foreign to me.... I'm glad I can hunt with who I want to and not worry about what other people do or think, or follow someone else's rules (other than the law obviously).
 
I think the OP answered his own question in his first post. He doesn’t have a reason to prohibit the responsible usage of marijuana in his camp.

A lot of guys here like to repeat that what the camp owner says goes. This is true. Being a private establishment it is not a democracy. Nonetheless making stupid rules still makes you a nasty person.

Also there is a few folks on here who seem to believe that somehow legalization of marijuana is a deterioration of our society. Marijuana has very little effect on people long term. Aside from effects on the growing/adolescence mind, there is zero medical evidence that marijuana has any negative effects on adults. What is scary is how we prohibited a substance for almost no reason. Another case in which anecdotal evidence and feelings over ruled personal freedom.
 
It simply shocks me that so many people here in this thread would jump all over an anti firearm or anti hunting point of view if it was totally uneducated and rife with errors and myth...... you guys would collectively burn that anti at the stake....

and so it makes me laugh but saddens me at the same time that a great many of those people here are in this case "the anti pot crowd" and are showing us exactly how uneducated they truly are with heads stuffed full of myths and errors and are here calling the kettle black.

Pretty much agree with everything you said here.....

As for the rules, a good set of non restrictive rules is required to make sure that everyone stays safe, work gets shared and everyone has the most enjoyable camp as possible..... it’s pretty obvious that the guys barking about rules have never been in a hunt camp......

Actually I have received countless hours of education about it as the young guy I work with extoles the virtues of it daily and how now he may have a cure for his health related problems. Apparently he suffers from some ailment that cause fluid build up in his ear causing him to be naucious and dizzy. The doctor told him something in coffee and dark pop is setting it off (caffeine?) so he quit drinking them and he is good about 80% of the time. Now about that other 20% he thinks marinuana will take care of it but his job, being oil industry doesn’t allow for him to have anything in his system and if he should have an incident at work they test immediately. Two of his coworkers had an incident last summer and they were immediately taken for testing. One still had THC in his system with both the swab and urine tests failed. The company has a policy to provide for rehab instead of dismissal but the guy turned it down and took the dismissal as he felt what he did at home after work was his business so for the sake of his smoking a bit of weed after work each day to relax he gave up a great job that pays these guys 100k/year!!!

But this thread has been derailed enough...I’ll bow out now and see if it gets back onto the original topic of marijuana use at the hunt camp.
 
I really don't know were to start......there is sooo much fail with this Govt. 1st they make all the old cool Miksurps Prohib........then supply the masses with dope to smoke while their shooting their safer non prohibs. LOL you cant make this 5hit Up !!

Nobody is forcing anything on anyone. It's going to be an issue of freedom of choice. Go have another drink an stew about it some more........

The freedom of choice belongs to the person that owns the property..... not to the person who wants to come onto it and execute their “freedom of choice”...... what part of that don’t you understand?.....

Why does one persons freedom of choice trump the feedom of the camp owner/operator to enforce some ground rules for the sake of others and general safe practice.

Smoke your herb, Stay in the basement, shoot each other with nerf guns and watch cartoons at home.

And I have been to enough camps with "my camp, my rules" camp bosses that I'll never go back as I never treat a guest that way. One boss got punched out and everybody left and none returned the next year because the guy was a ####. I'm glad I have my own place where guest are not treated like inmates.

Who wants to hunt with a "my camp, my rules" camp boss, not this guy for one.

See..... that’s the funny part..... your weed would be welcome at my camp... and the rules aren’t mine.... we made them together as a group...

That being said, no toking before or during hunting at my camp.... If you need your weed so badly that you can’t wait until the guns are put away, then maybe weed isn’t as mild and wonderful as you seem to think it is.... and if that makes you feel like an inmate then so be it...
 
We usually don't have any camp bosses out west.. But I do agree with " My camp, I'm boss My rules"
What kind of #### heads show up and want to change everything to suit their agenda??? Pot , booze. .. restricted firearms.. And for you stoners.. I didn't just fall off the turnip truck....
And brag about... OH yeah and we punched him out.... DickHeads
