Oh man I suck at posting images. Long story short, I posted some links to ruger from this forum saying we are pretty excited about this rifle in Canada and they replied this morning saying they are looking at a non-restricted option.

And my computer illiteracy has reached a new low, as I can’t seem to embed the email response.

Just heard back from Ruger.

They are looking into a Canadian non-restricted version with 181/2 barrel. If you have not seen this, just Google.

Takedown rifle comes with magwell insert that changes it from Ruger 9mm mags to Glock 9mm mags.

So just throwing this out there: If this rifle ships with a Ruger SR9 magazine, are we going to see all Ruger SR9 mags interpreted as rifle mags and limited to 5 rounds? Sorta a reverse of the 10/22 fiasco??

Shouldn't. There's already SR9's in the country that are pretty firmly classified as handguns.

No but the interesting thing for SR9 pistol owners is that most people will be using glock magazines in these if/when they come in, so they'll have a brand new sr9 mag to sell.
 
Lockhart Tactical better hope the Raven 9 gets approved by the RCMP sooner than later. 'Cause I know what I am buying if the Ruger is available before the Raven 9.

As long as it feels good with the support hand and for magazine changes that's all that really maters, I have a feeling it's ergonomically correct and the other part of it is the space needed to make the mag well's adaptable to different brands and calibers.

I think they may have changed the angle of the pistol grip a little bit but they could have done a bit more and sculpted it out behind the grip where the heel of the palm rests. It's not a deal breaker for sure but Magpul did a good job modernizing the ergonomics of the classic pistol grip stock with their SGA type stocks.
Some storage in the buttstock would have been nice.

You have to hand it to Ruger though for abandoning their proprietary scope mounts on this model and also the providing an option for glock mags.
