Lee warranty

Firstly, sent pics and jumped through hoops, secondly, figured yes if I have to pay shipping grab some extra, stock is next to non existent on their website of anything useful

Paid 5 bucks for a piece of Sched 80 pipe at the local steel wholesaler, spent a total of 30 minutes with a drill and file and now have a part made from real steel and can reload for my new rifle and not have to deal with a company that has no customer service and wait for parts. New gun and no rounds grate me like a rash.

By the way this policy is new Jan 2018 so let me know how you make out and I may waste my time further and aggravate their customer service if warranty is discretionary.

I seem to be $25 ahead on the deal at this point and threw a few buck local

All I will say is that lots of the Lee stuff stinks.
They laugh at you when you tell them the toggle broke.
The manual trimmer for 223 is JUNK.
Their [SAFETY SCALE ] IS JUNK.[ MOST PEOPLE BUY ANOTHER ONE, [THEY ARE NOT SATISFIED].
THEIR [RGB], DIES ARE JUNK.
I SPEAK FROM EXPERIENCE.
THEIR RELOADING MANUAL IS NOT THE BEST EITHER.
THEI CUSTOMER RELATIONS IS [NO GOOD]
THEIR BIG PRESS IS GOOD AND I LIKE IT.

THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU BUY ANY LEE PRODUCTS!!!

Junk... kind of like your typing skills. I see.

Nothing wrong with Lee stuff if you read and follow the directions. I've emailed for minor replacement stuff and they just sent me the stuff at no charge.

Any manufacturer's stuff can break. It's often said that Dillon stuff is expensive up front because you're buying all the future warranty replacement stuff with the initial purchase. That is, you're paying up front for future service.

Maybe I am just lucky but I don't think I have ever broken any of my reloading equipment. More often my support calls are for parts that were missing from the package when I bought the thing.

Lee still offering a 2 year warranty? What else is there to say?

That they don't care about the 2 years. They'll replace/fix your stuff for free if it's broken. There's some limit, but the limit isn't 2 years.

These companies are aware of the good old apache trick for warranty. They know everything mechanical eventually breaks. They factor that into the price of the stuff they sell. They charge you 3 times what an honest price is, and when it breaks they give you those 50¢ parts for "free".

In the meantime if Lee was so bad they would be out of business by now. Instead you get 90% of the quality for 50% of the price. Even their crappy stuff (Pro1000, C-type press, loaders) are priced so low they've created a market that wouldn't even exist without them. For some stuff (decapping die, factory crimp dies, etc.), they are better than the competition, for less.

Sorry, I've already been there, done that with Lee. I'll give you 20% of the quality for 1/2 the price but only because you caught me in a good mood. A few things I still use, like my carbide pistol dies and the handgun FCD.

Much of what you say sounds like what I said when I was young and broke. I talked myself into a lot of junk, resented the people that told me it was junk, got by with junk (sorta). In the end the junk didn't save me money, it cost me money.

Maybe you'll get there some day, maybe you won't.

Hmm, 20% of you is still too much, at any price, thanks for the offer though.

I'll be honest, I don't think you're scoring any point wiuth anyone by insulting them. Maybe you'll get that someday, maybe you won't.

Recently ran into an issue with the decapping pin snapping off a Lee die due to an off center flash hole. The part would be free from Lee but about $25 CDN due to process and shipping fees. Ordered the part from Higginson for $4 and a couple bucks shipping and all is well.

The die works fine and this could have happened with any brand. RCBS would have sent a replacement for free, however it still cost me less than a set of RCBS dies would have in the first place.

Now it's worth mentioning this is the only Lee product I own and I do feel more comfortable spending a few extra bucks on hornady or RCBS but had to get the Lee in a pinch.

No age or proof of purchase required for my parts. Just a picture of the problem. My press is 5 yrs old. Parts are in the mail. Comments like yours squander your reputation of knowledge and experience.
