Before loosening anything My 527 was insanely tight when I got it. I got it second hand but barely used with 3 mags. Strangely 1 magazine has a spring shaped differently than the other two but all work. Initially the action was so tight it bounced dummy rounds out of the magazine as I cycled the action. My 1 mod was a slight filing of one edge of one magazine with would ride on the bolt as it cycled. Anyway after several oilings/wipe ups I cycled the action for at least 300 dummy round firings then when it began cycling properly I took it to the range and put real ammo in it. After 100rds in the rifle went from shooting Barnaul 3inches to 8oclock to centre groups with irons. With a scope I can use any ammo in my inventory for groups 1 inch or less if I do my part with a 2-7 vortex at 100m.
Don't treat this little rifle like a baby. Force the clip in and pull out the mag. Put some oil on it and repeat the process a few dozen times. Treat it like a milsurp it can take it. Now that mine is broken in its great fun to shoot and after carrying it for one hunt i know it will be making it back next year. One issue i had was that on one occasion i did not put the magazine in forcefully enougb for it to catch. To the guns credit it held on to that magazine for a bit of hiking before I relialized the issue. After that I made sure I pushed the mags on firmly till they clicked every time. My advice for attrition get 2 or 3 mags if you plan to hunt with this rifle. My only complaint is the inability to top load this rifle easily.
