Best-kept secret in Canada....

Ted

Well im currently on my way to one of the uranium mines in northern saskatchewan and its forecasting -39 i usally make the trip up there twice a week for work so the colds not a problem but convincing my wife might be abit of a challenge my 2 boys 5 and 3 would go anywhere aslong as i told them theres coyotes to call

Im gonna go with a 20" barrel

Why not try it at 22" to start? That's a big hole in that bbl and you might find that it will be lighter than you expect. Start with 22 and go from there. Easier to go shorter than longer.

Also, IMHO a bolt gun looks weird when the forend is longer than 1/2 the length of the bbl. A short bbl is all out out proportion to the rest of the rifle and really does look "sawed off". That would be a shame for that nice Kimber of yours.

Not as much as you might think. It's not for everyone, hence the "nice place to visit". Many people go there for a few years and leave - I know two personally. The beauty can become trumped by the isolation and high costs.

It is expensive but I noticed on both my trips there that there was a LOT of folks that live there that are from away, came to visit and never left. They seem to like it a lot. Must have some appeal to a lot of folks who buy homes and drive up real estate prices.

The door didn't open for me to go there because of family and employment, but if it had .............

If I didn't already have so much invested in that 35Whelen rifle and loading kit, I would very much consider buying that rifle and modding it up a bit.
