Just reaching out to any Les Bear owners and seeing if the 1.5" guarantee is really worth it? Did you find it made s difference ? Dies it impact shooting upto 30 yards?

Assuming it is a legit, repeatable guarantee, you'd have to be a pretty good shot to appreciate the difference.

I have one with and one without. They are close. All things being equal, you might as well get the 1.5 if the option is available. If it is a matter of a special order and passing up a standard model that is in stock, I wouldn't hesitate to get the standard model.

I have a Les Baer with the standard 3 inch at 50 yards guarantee. It is the most accurate 1911 Ive ever owned and shoots way better than I can ever hope to shoot.I would think that you would have to be an incredible shot to take advantage of the 1.5 inch guarantee.Theres a lot of mystery and conjecture as to how those guns earn the 1.5 inch guarantee,Ive never really figured that one out and have never read of anyone who has either.A few years ago on the 1911 forum(great forum BTW for 1911 fans),there was an extensive test using a Ransom rest comparing various 1911s,including 1.5 and 3 inch models, and as I recall, there really wasnt much difference between the 2.Unless you want the bragging rights, save your money and go for the 3 inch model, they are plenty accurate as it is.

What are your plans for the pistol?

If anything other than PPC or Bullseye (or bragging rights), you should probably go with the standard accuracy.

A good question to ask: is the juice worth the squeeze? - in this case, what outcomes are you trying to achieve and are they worth the additional cost?

They guarantee the pistol is that accurate, not the shooter! My Les Baer 572 Hemi is worth every penny to me. Outstanding quality.

What do they do to make that guarantee? Arnt all their guns hand fit anyway?

Haven’t seen anything conclusive but I was told by a distributor that they start by testing and screening the barrels and then build the gun around it. He said that is why if you special order something unique, you can’t just switch mid process and ask for a 1.5” gun. He said he thought they might put some extra attention into the fitting as well but wasn’t sure. I can’t really tell a difference between mine. Both seem equally tight, though I know that is not the only element in fitting a gun.

I would have figured that load development would have something to do with it and they supplied the specs on the ammo.

When I ordered mine, I didn't bother with the accuracy guarantee. I don't regularly shoot beyond 25m and I don't think I have the ability to really take advantage of the enhanced accuracy.

That is what I did I ended up getting a Premier II super excited !!!!

They had the monolith as well it was hard to choose between the two but I went with premier II. Now to some good load development I wonder how my 4.5grns titegroip 230grn campro's will shoot out of it

My favourite load for 45 ACP remains the good old 200gr cast SWC over 4gr Titegroup(light target load) or 5gr Titegroup(IPSC major load),loaded to about 1.245LOA.These off a rest routinely will make a large ragged hole per magazine at 25yds from my LB premier 2.

I'm not a 1911 fan but shooting my Buddy's Monolith is pure joy. He didn't opt for the accuracy guarantee but man the HG is so easy to shoot tight groups....

My go to load with my Les Baer Concept III is 6.2gr of VVN340 with a 200gr Berry's RSFP. One ragged hole at 20 yards in a Ransom Rest.

If only they could guarantee that I would shoot 1.5" groups, that's a gun I would buy immediately!
