What do you use to transport your rifle?

Pelican 1750.
For long (air) travel protection you can't beat a Pelican. Several times at different airports I have seen mine get bounced off the cement floor hard enough to break the keyed locks, but no damage inside.
For short trips in a vehicle a decent soft case is sufficient.

Thanks for the info.
Stock folded or not?
CDX30 is a 24''308 if i'm not mistaking?
For the above posted rifle, with a new uninstalled 26'' barrel though.
I want to order 52'' lenght, i wonder if it's interior or exterior dimensions.

Edit they have info on their website, 51'' inside dimensions.
Will have to install barrel and see.

Unfolded. It’s either a 24 or 26” barrel with a muzzle break.

What are you guys doing on your trips to the range to warrant such protection for your rifles? Seriously, can’t these Pelican cases be dropped from a Helicopter? I have hard cases but I never use them unless it’s a treacherous trip to my camp

Time and place for everything.
Basement>Truck>range table, sure soft case more than good enough.

Going on a trip with 3 other boys in my crew cab truck, and firearm end up in the bed with other gear, gravel roads etc... i'd never leave without my hardcase.

That's where i like the idea of a sniper drag bag that fits inside a hardcase without foam.
Best of both worlds, and you can truly bring what you need depending on level of required protection.

^^^ Nice idea Marty

I wish i could take credit for it, but this is where i got the idea.
Go into options, and you will see optional empty hard case.

As soon as my new 26'' barrel is on i am double checking if rig will fit in a cadex drag bag.
If it does i'll check if drag bag fits in empty huntshield case, if it doesn't i'll buy optional hard case.

$6,000 rifle, $4,000 scope, don't think a Pelican case is overkill, to each his own I guess.

Thanks for the link..I need a new bag

Are Cabela's Armor Extreme cases good for air travel ? I'm looking for one, the double guns at 189$ seems to be a good choice
or does a sniper drag bag inside a hardcase without foam will be good enough for air travel ?

Myself am not into air travel, but when i played music, guys often had this saying...: Are you comfortable with your case setup if your cased guitar should take a 3-4 foot freefall before landing on concrete?
If i was air traveling, that probably warrants the best of Pelican setups.

The single case is good but the foam is too thick and gives very little. Its not easy to case a scoped rifle with over a 40mm objective.
You have to factor in the hassle of shaving down the foam (not ideal in my oppinion) OR buying additional foam.
Just my opinion. I actually like the case and might buy another single rifle case but I did happen to have foam from another cheap case I can use with the Armour extreme.

I have a 60mm optic so I assume the cabelas armor wont be a good fit..
I might consider the voodoo drag bag inside an empty hard case.
just want to be sure the rifle wont move left and right during transportation lol
