BCL 102 stripped receiver set thread

Did you see the same pictures as me ? My SKS81 is actually nicer than NEA... hahahahahaha

those milling marks are pretty small compared to the gouges in the T-81 receiver from the brake shaping, bent pins holding in the butt stock and the splotchy bluing done on the metal.

Let’s get realistic though for a minute.
The T-81 is a Norinco product made in China, and gives us access to a 7.62x39, mag fed semi-auto which is for all intents and purposes a recent milsurp. Considering our current climate, laws, and the treatment of milsurps overall these days with governments choosing to crush them rather than sell them, we are doing ok by even seeing them.

NEA/BCL AR-10 Type rifle that is non-restricted. That should say it all right there, but if that isn’t enough we are paying for Canadian wages/cost of manufacture and the NR tax associated with such ventures.
Could they/should they take the extra step to media blast them prior to ceracoating? Most definitely, but they could also be in modern hunter ballistic pricing territory too. A little character in the finish isn’t going to make me loose much sleep.

I could post some close ups of some pretty minor blems in my KAC SR-25 too - nothing is perfect.
I’d be much more concerned with stuff that matters like holes drilled in the right place and the right size, etc. Over pretty minor surface finish imperfections, but ymmv.

It’s a feature.... pre-worn bada$$ look offered by North American artists deserving Hollywood wages.

T81 is a 500$ rifle we all paid 1K to get. We knew what we were getting into. but I knew I was getting a stamped riffle and Chinese quality.

Next time I do I tile job Ill ask to get paid upfront, tell the customers to wait 4 months. go install the tile all half ass with no care. and then come up with a bunch of excuses. And call uneven tiles " fetures " lol...

See how long I stay in business with the developer I work for.

I would rather BCL tell me I have to wait 4 more months because of QC issues and them addressing the problems, than pushing crap like this out the door. I would at least know they are trying. But instead they keep posting how great the 102 is on IG ...lol...

I feel like the upper on the one I received never got sand blasted prior to paint or something as you could literally see tooling marks everywhere. There were no or very minor tooling marks on the lower and hand guard or the paint was thicker and I couldn't see them. Either way the upper on the one I had was very poorly done. My Chinese Type 81 has less tooling marks than a Canadian made rifle.

Notice the chatter lines the whole length of the upper

Just ugliness f:P:

Also noticed tool marks on the safety

This photo shows what I mean where the handguard looks smooth and tool mark free and the upper has chatter everywhere. Although the hand guard did have bubbling in the paint :(

That doesnt look like chatter marks, looks like High Feed marks.

The Rounded section in the front looks like there Step over was a little Bit Rough to save on Machining Time.

The Gouges in the corner looks like they simply need to edit their CNC toolpath to NOT gouge like that.

Regarding the Safety, looks like they dont care how it looks, they should probably be putting fresh tools for finishing passes, if they do one, but a Bit of sand blasting on it would for sure smooth it out prior to Oxide/Nitride.

I ordered my Receiver set in RAW, and look forward to putting in some finishing touches to it, and hopefully it is in spec and useable, and just needs some love :)

All in all yeah it's not chatter. They just don't seem to be taking the extra step to fine finish with the machining.

Likely just using a quick tool path program to pump them out.

Everyone calm down on the estrogen
Facts are:
yes BCL is not pretty
yes BCL is late
yes BCL is the same old NEA shananigans
yes BCL continually changes their rifles after each production run, why? I dunno, they have a misguided view of their customers expectations. That's really a product management and marketing problem. They seem to have an arrogance problem where they think they know more about what their customers want than their customers.
Will BCL change? not if these still sell like hotcakes
What can we do? Nothing since we aren't even allowed to complain. We are not even allowed to call their gen2 rifle gen2.

so there you go

Ain't that the truth. After posting those pics yesterday I was refused the replacement that was agreed upon they day before. I was told that is standard from these rifles and I wouldn't be happy with another one. Coming up on seven months they've had my money and they delivered me a sub par product twice yet I'm the bad guy for reaching my breaking point from getting dicked around.

Well I can tell you one thing, I will no longer support BCL . And once ATRS releases the MH stripped receiver set ill be getting rid of my BCL one !

I just noticed they banned me from the BCL102 FB page and delete the pictures.

There is no BCL Facebook page anymore. They stopped using Facebook a couple months ago and only use Instagram. Hirv, you weren’t refused anything. You are being given a full refund once your gun arrives back here and you know why.
