Looking at a k98 bcd 4. It is all matching and in a laminate matching stock. Overall condition of gun would be very good +, about a 8/10. Sorry I do not have pictures. I need a figure $$$$ to go in and make a reasonable offer.
Thanks guys

Eagles with swastikas?

Russian capture retail about 900 now
Yugo 98 about 600+
German noncapture 1400+

If you really don't know don't buy something very expensive as you could be fooled easily.

Has the barrel been replaced post WWII?
Re-blued or Original finish?
Any Electro Pencil serial numbers?

Hows the bore?

Is it East German? I had an exe BCD 4 that was East German, they look really nice and pretty much like a WWII K98.

If the RC K98's are $1000, Electro serial numbers, X mark, Forced match etc..

A good East German K98 - $ 1100++ depending on make/ year

Like philhut said - "German non capture 1400++"

Israeli - $450 - $600

Lots of de sporterized stuff to. Need some pictures

RX from dealers are that much, buy guys tire of them and they don’t sell for that again.

Without photos it’s impossible to say if it’s a $500 gun or $2500 gun. End of story. Impossible to say.

If it's as you say all matching and in 8 of 10 condtion then it's 2 to 3 grand price range maybe ,but as said previous hard to tell without a few detailed pics there are a lot of variables which will determine weather it is original ,light refers, or complete Rework? .

The stock is serial numbered to gun. Is this a sign of a Russian capture rifle as I understand stocks were not serialized to rifles in original manufacture? Another sign of RC is an X marked on the breech...is that correct, if so don't recall seeing that either? Sorry guys for my ignorance.....I'm a Enfield guy.

If the stock is serialed on the outside then it isn't an original gun. Stocks had the serial applied externally and internally until about mid 1942, then were only done internally until late in the war when they were eliminated altogether. bcd4 in original configuration would not have an external serial.

Ok guys.....I'd love to post some pictures but don't know how. If someone could PM me there email address I could send pictures that way no problem and maybe they could get posted to the forum that way....just a thought.

hard to believe I paid 145$ for my Russian capture k98 some years back, wish I had bought a few more to set on.

I wouldn't pay much for a cleaned up RC though. Most guys cleaned them up and its gotten harder to find a legit "unmolested" RC.
