The fear mongering is real.

At this point it's all rumors. Nothing is actually released at this moment, and what we're going off of is second hand information.

Doesn't mean that we should be complacent. However the more letters you write saying "don't do X" the more you're giving them ideas to "do X". As for now general letters letting them know that you will not support one more inch of gun control is the best measure, otherwise you're just feeding the machine some ideas.
 
I think what is perfectly clear is that this election cycle roller-coaster of one party helping (sort off) and two other parties trying to ban guns is never going to end until through incremental changes everything will be reclassified and the only place you will be able to use your firearms is at a range.
The bottom line is the firearms community needs to take it up a notch and aim for a higher goal, property rights/self defense law enshrinement...and before people start rolling their eyes, what other option do we ultimately have?
I believe with education and reasoned dialog, people can be won over.
I have no illusion that anyone here will have a 2A or that the government will suddenly respect the Magna Carta, but a better goal has to be aimed for.

Exactly. Look at the people backing Gerald Stanley. They are self defense enthusiasts from across a spectrum of society much wider than gun owners.

Worst case Ontario cut it in half keep it as a deactivated piece then find a b pressure welder to weld it back together and get it xrayed to make sure there's no incomplete penetration/lack of fusion/cracks

How many NR Semi-auto realistically are there? How many (NR) would ever get registered? Those idiot think everyone would just sit back & take it/comply? I dont see that happening. So, they go for ones they know about, (AR's) then prohibit it, so they dont have to Buy back? & it sits useless in your safes? Waiting to get turn in/destroy one day? Then COMPLY?
& register your ALL you NR. Obey so later they can be Prohib & taken too? F to all that. Seem to me there be allot of good guy turn bad guy with these scenario, because of the BAD Guy Turdo & Libs, what a DB! No way to these things! Our gun law is already proven strict plenty enough.Thank You! Not.

There is no provisions for new prohibited licenses, so when they go prohib you either turn it in or face jail time.

The Franchi spass went prohib, they all were confiscated, one fellow was smart and demanded compensation, he actually ended up getting it and established case law for compensation.

Liberals prohibiting firearms en masse will end up being a very costly maneuver

Seriously, go out and buy more ARs. Stripped lowers are only 99 bucks FFS.

The more ARs out there, the more difficult for them to ban anything. If everyone and his puppy has a 99 bucks lower, it is going to be a major headache for anyone to do anything about it. I would love to have a picture of an entire town lining up in front of a green truck to hand over their 99 bucks lower - that will be a MEME!

Talk is big about non compliance and whatnot. The idea that if we buy more ar’s it’s going to be harder for them is silly. This is a government that has no problem wasting billions on frootloops and earthdreams. 90% or more of us bent over and registered everything the last go around. Look to Australia, this is exactly how it’s going to look here. They will have no problems making 90 % of us criminals overnight, followed by years of on and off ‘amnesty’ and blah blah blah.
