how many shots do you shoot from a good waterfoul hunt? ive been on a few dandies that had lots of shooting. 6 hunters 8 geese and 8 ducks each, plus 25 snows, that equals a lot of shooting. and a lot of cleaning
Even if your shooting is marginal, and you fired 2 shots per bird, that is only 32 shots each for the birds except for the snows. And if each person ten shots at the snows, that is still only 42 shots each. If you can't fire 42 shots out of a Maxus in one hunt without getting beat up, then the gun doesn't fit you. If you are firing more than two shots per bird, then you badly need to work on your shooting skills, and your shot selection. And if you are waiting until the birds are in range, you don't need 3-1/2" loads. Any way you look at it, if you felt beat up after the shoot you describe, it isn't because you shot a Maxus.
