CZ858 Purchase thread / What Org to support ?

They will follow the exact same script as before by initially issuing ATTs (or SAPs) for range use, then a few years down the road they refuse to issue same. Divide and conquer using incremental steps. We've already seen this movie and know the ending - so why is there any doubt that is what will happen???

And this is why I have an L1A1 welded up tighter then a block of steel and rods welded into the barrel, hanging on the reloading room wall. Same story. Going to be some cheap dewat 858's in a few years.

I don't own one, and I don't think I'll be able to (dang, always wanted the folding stock one for a cool quad gun) but it'll be interesting to see the difference in people advocating non-compliance vs. those who want to get in on a prohibited category.

Also, go CCFR and get legal insurance. It's a minimal investment given what you get out of it.

Anyone know off hand what are the numbers of these soon to be prohib 858's in Canada?
I had one but sold a few months back. Dont regret it as I have a CZH2003 with 15.5" origianl military barrel. Much better set up in my opinion
I would jump on the WTB band wagon if it meant a PAL license able to buy all converted auto's but dont think that will happen

Numbers not needed. They are all going to be prohibited. They are not making the distinction like the previous prohibition.

I'm curious what the grandfather clause includes. You'll be allowed to continue to own them, but can you transport them?

CSSA says you will be grandfathered in to a prohibited license.. can shoot at a range and buy other prohibited firearms... from what I seen.

Some around here remember where this road ends up. Ask any FAL owner that USED to get a ATT for their prohibited rifle for range use and competition. Those ATT's no longer exist and rifles that were supposed to be allowed range use are safe queens with no chance of become inheritance of an estate.

Do not, for one second forget the past. Do not, for one second think that your new ATT will last once they have enough in the new 12.X registry.

Bingo. Glad to see someone has a long enough memory.

I love it when stuff like this happens,

I add a bunch of people to my ignore list, especially the spineless folks that automatically put their CZ858 for sale instead of standing up for their rights. Im a shamed to call those people fellow shooters.

CCFR they have been extremely active in Ottawa and have been preparing for this fight already. They are the only org that has been in direct communication with public safety and warned us about these changes for months. plus they have created content for all of us to use through www.gundebate.ca

I'd love to buy a receiver. PM me.

Also, what's stopping me from calling in on July 1st and telling them I want to register my CZ 858 with serial number G0FUC7Y0URS3L7?

But that creates an opportunity for someone else to buy it WITH THE INTENT to stand up to legislature changes...

so lose-win?

Looks like I actually have two to register... This one might be full auto.
