Blaser Prices

I was very impressed with the F3 I handled at the Sportsmen Show last week. Not worth the 10k starting price IMO though and quite plain to be honest, but handled beautifully and fit like a champ.

I checked out the blasers at the sport show also.... they were alright.. when I asked the prices I almost choked tho.... seemed a lot of money for what they were. I went over to the browning display and shouldered a very high end citori that was 7k..... made me wish I had an extra 7k.... the blaser.. ... not so much.. didn't have that effect of wow...

If you want a pretty gun, in that price range, buy a high end Browning or Beretta with fancy wood and engraving . If you want a higher quality gun to shoot rather than to look at, Blaser is a good option. Some people even buy base grade Krieghoffs, because they want quality, and are not as concerned about appearance.;)

FWIW prices have not increased outside of regular inflationary increases. The big jumps people are seeing are largely the result of various clearance specials that were run over the past years when inventory was not moving. Most of our Blaser pricing is the same, some accessory prices are actually lower. Also FWIW the shipping delays have been reduced enormously. Where customers used to wait a year or more for their gun to ship, they are now looking at 3 months.

It seems that different dealers have different explanations for the price differences. My local dealer who had F-3 shotguns in stock a few months ago, had them priced in the $7200 to $8000 range, while the other dealers have the same guns starting at about $2000 higher. His F-16 prices were also about $1000 less than other dealers. The local dealer is the one that told me that the distributorship was changing, and that the prices were going up dramatically, so all new orders would cost significantly more. Perhaps the local dealer bought a large number of the clearance specials, and that is why his prices were so good. As far as the wait times changing, that seems to be the same with every dealer that I spoke with. They all told me that orders were taking up to a year, but that the times would be reduced to a few months with the new distribution arrangement. The rep at Blaser USA told me that is the reason for the change, there were too many complaints about long deliver times for firearms in Canada.

And plain, straight grained wood can be more resistant to cracking under severe use.

I wasn't aware that the blasers where that no frills of a gun... all quality no show... works for me... how much performance wise is the entry level braser superior to say a browning xt?

I have shot Brownings for about 30 years, and this is my first Blaser. I have had Brownings from grade one to grade six, and all were good guns, but the Blaser handles very differently. The 725 Sporting swings quicker than the earlier Brownings, but the F-3 swings even more quickly. The triggers on the F-3 are far superior to any of my Brownings. Instead of useless porting, the F-3 has a balancing system that makes it easy to change the balance or the overall weight of the gun. Unlike Browning, you can add barrels with no fitting required, and any of the F-3 stocks can be installed on any F-3 receiver. If you want to shoot 20 gauge, just purchase a set of 20 gauge barrels. If you prefer a parallel comb stock, it is an option. The priority at Blaser seems to be more on building a solid gun with features that help to make it more versatile, and to perform better, with less emphasis on appearance. You can purchase higher grade wood and engraving is an option, but it's up to you if you want to pay extra to have them.

The base models are relatively plain. Designed for hard use. Engraved side plates and knock out wood are available if that is your thing.
