Ontario Transfer Wait Times?

I purchased a restricted firearm from someone off CGN last week. I was told at least a month. Seems to be getting longer. Is this all because of Trudeau's new rules?

Not yet. Times right now in Ontario can run anywhere from 3-7 weeks. Right now I think its about average 2-4 weeks.

I think estimates for the restricted transfer times could be 2x 3x of those at present or in other terms up to 2 -3 months wait for the restricted to transfer compared to what we have now.

With the new 'rules' creating a registry for non restricted by tracking buyer and seller PAL identities will make things worse. The intent of course is to accumulate data on seller and buyer identity through their PALs then compare to the outdated LGR that they are holding onto
the data of so they can rebuild an idea of what is where and where it may have gone or some clues anyway without too much trouble. But the main problem will be setting up the new system and getting it going and that impacting the rest of the operation.

What will happen is that the added processing of the non restricted will due to the resources needed and the confusion and chaos that always results will take resources away from what they are doing now regardless of any additional budget.

Bought a 3 yesterday, store said most likely 4 weeks and wife called RCMP for update on her RPAL, was told could take another few months when they get to it, already been a month. Our taxes dollars hard at work.

Just tried to confirm a transfer and automated message said they have a higher than expected call volume which has been the case almost every time I've called them. Issue is that this time they don't let you stay in hold and wait for the next available agent. They just say call back at a later time and hang up. Wtf.

I don't get why all the provinces are different, if the RCMP is Canada's police force, why isn't there one standard across the country?? I can understand this mess if each province's police was responsible for their gun owners, then that would make sense.
