I have to say. We are very proud of our AE ACR barrels and conversions. We don't talk about it much?
The AE ACR barrels are high quality, purpose built ACR barrels, made for us for the Canadian market. We don't do custom, one off barrels. We have two barrels, same govt profile as the original ACR carbine, one 4150 CMV Chrome Lined/Phosphated and one 416R Stainless Steel.
We teamed up with one of the most respected barrel manufacturers in the USA who took on our project on and built our barrels on a much smaller scale than is usually possible (thousands less). We duplicated the lighter govt. profile ACR carbine barrel under the handguards, dropped the vestigial M203 notch, and extended the design out to 18.75". We received excellent barrels with the full suite of lab tests and QC. Friends helping friends. The barrels are correct, and accurate. All work including chrome lining and phosphating was performed by shops with decades of US Defence manufacturing experience. Our conversion is performed by an NRA qualified gunsmith with decades of experience. We also have custom tool-work.
We wanted accurate, carbine weight barrels for an accurate rifle and I believe these deliver. Customers have submitted sub-MOA results, as have the shown on test targets accompanying rifles.
We have sold many dozens of the barrels, conversions and rifles since 2015. For owners of DMR rifles, we have also done swaps for the lighter barrel.
While I'm talking, many AE 18.75" Mid-Length CMV and SS barrels are also now in use in competitive AR15 rifles, and... we have more CMV arriving this week in AR15 configuration.
