I bought a Wr762 (vz58) by Kodiak defence back in December. About a month ago I had my first opportunity to shoot it. After about 100 rounds down the barrel, my lower hand guard fell out. Upon further inspection I realized that the gas block had slid about 5cm forward. I phoned Kodiak about the issue and was told that if I sent it in, they would simply put a rubber gasket to hold it in place (I don't think he understood what I was telling him, even though I sent them photos and he had them infront of him. Honestly it was terrible customer service and he did not seem to want to help) since then I have gently hammered the gas block into place with a soft rubber mallet. I have not had an opportunity to shoot since then to see if the issue persist. What I'm wondering, is there any way to fix this issue? Or should I send it in for warranty (leaning toward warranty, just a pain in the ass). It was brand new unfired when I purchased it by the way.

Is the roll pin missing?
5cm is crazy.
This!! The gas block is pinned in the notch in the barrel. I should not move and no gasket will hold it in place. Further inspection is required. I have moved the gas blocks before. Make sure it is in proper alignment or it will jam/damage your gas piston.

Does the thing feature one of the motor block paint/recycled/modified receivers that sold and being on sale by some dealers on here?

Do not worry, they are great guns and you have options - buy another for cheap - they are in stock...f:P:

Different.

interesting... i was about to buy one, might have to hold off untill there’s more info.

Yeah I'm not sure how I feel about the rifle. The trigger is nice and crisp but other than that it doesn't have the same feel as a csa vz58 and the receiver isn't pre drilled for an optic mount.. downside to me

Send it in for warranty work while you can!

Where'd you buy it? They may help look after you... One of the many reasons I deal with local shops!

I purchased it from reliable, I'm confident they would help me as they are awesome people. I wanted to get out and put some more rounds down range before I sent it in.... but might just send it

I hope the WK180 has no issues and isn't a "flop"......I've seen various threads of issues with the WR762.....personally if one issue ever arises with a new rifle if iam able to send it back for full refund I would.....and move onto something else

I'm feeling the same way kind of, ever since it happened the rifle feels cheap to me. Im not sure if I can send it for a full refund, Maybe if I make a big stink about it.

Still waiting for an update on my warranty issue with my gun not firing semi auto always. How long should i wait before i follow up? Its only been 2 weeks. Was thinking give it a month if i don't hear back? Im not as concerned since its a canadian company and depend on cgn feedback for sales.

I sent my gun off. They accepted the delivery June 1st. When I spoke to the guy on the phone he said he would have my gun fixed and sent off in one week as it was just a pin that needed replacing. I phoned back a week and a half later and he said it was ready to be shipped and to wait for an email with tracking info. Two weeks passed and I phoned and left a message giving them my email and asking about the gun. It has now been 26 days since they have received it and over a month since I sent it... for a pin on the gas block... not sure how long it's reasonable to wait without getting pissed off and phoning them
