Irunguns AR180B versus WK190-C...thoughts?

I refuse to get suckered into the pre-sale garbage as well. In my opinion it's a ploy from manufacturers and retailers to maximize profits. They hype it up six months to a year before release, say it's non restricted so everyone goes nuts, sell the whole first production run charging more than it's worth, and as we've seen almost every time in the last two years delivery is typically disappointment and/or technical issues with the consumer being the beta tester. Then they announce production run number two and no one has learnt anything from run one and they sell out again before they've built one unit. They control supply maintaining high demand and high prices.
I prefer to wait till I can at least hold one in my hands before opening my wallet. If that means I have to wait or that I don't get one I can live with that. I have plenty of non restricted semi's in the collection to play with while I wait for something new to make it to retailers shelves.
I think my next rifle will be an FX-9 since I already own an Armalite AR180B-2. I'm very happy to see these rifles coming to market though as it means parts for my 180
I got excited when I read Irunguns was working on a 180 project. My hope was it would be competitive price wise with wolverine so I waited it out... What a mistake.

Don't need them. Plenty of rifles run just fine without them.
The 180 doesn't need to be run wet like an AR and the tolerances are loose enough that any sand or grit just falls out the bottom.
Just my opinion though, YMMV

Whether or not the 180 needs a dust cover has nothing to do with why i mentioned everyone has now suddenly stopped talking about them.
Now they can complain about price being the reason why they will buy one or not... instead of wanting more options and different materials for the same wk180c price.

Both platforms come at the market from different angles and both companies have fully acknowledged that. TVPP has held both and he fully acknowledges that the 180c and the RWA are two totally different offerings based on the same initial platform.
Wolverine is looking to put out a $1000 black rifle and is building accordingly.
RWA/IRG are not building a $1000 black rifle. And are designing it accorrdingly.
Different build specs. Right down to the carbine vs rifle length gas port placements and barrel options.
Like comparing one AR15 to another. Price has a reason.
I've got one of both coming. Because they are different and I fully support both initiatives and I want both the succeed.
Comparing them to a Norinco is silly, They do no R&D, no testing, no improvements over the original design, and no warranty of any kind unless the importer/retailer decides to stand behind it for a week. It's just copy and ship and hope they sell. I would have a hard time paying more than $500 for one of these if it was being made by Norinco.
Materials, coatings, and surface treatments all factor into the price, it's not as simple as just saying it's double or triple the price. You get what you pay for and using more expensive materials/coatings/surface treatments will increase the price. Also factor in that the RWA model is using the Nodak lower which is being imported from the US which adds another cost to the completed rifles price.
It's unfortunate in a way that these all hit the market like they did since Canada Ammo was working on building an aluminum lower for the 180B and if they would have been closer to production they could have teamed up with RWA to produce a made in Canada partnership rifle to give a little more expensive/better 180 model while the Wolverine/Kodiak model would pick up the budget restrained guys and still give them a quality rifle but simply a more budget friendly version with less options.
As for the materials there is no need for 7075 on the 180. The carrier doesn't ride on the inside of the receiver like it does in an AR, in a 180 it rides on the two steel action spring/carrier guide rods and has steel inserts in the sides of the receiver to help guide it.
I have no doubt that the WK-180C will be a fine rifle but I do think the RWA/Nodak will probably be a little better rifle, it's up to each consumer to decide if the price difference is worth it.

HK sells brand, so does Colt. Same idea as Prada or Versace jeans. There will be always snobs who will claim magic powers for the overpriced item. Anyway, with most AR under $1K or almost all under $1.5k, I hardly see anything super innovative to justify $2k. Even Macabee with $1000 receiver set and stainless steel parts that I bought for it (223 wylde), I will have a less expensive rifle.
I'm buying both and will post and extensive comparison once I have them.
I care a bit about the price difference but care a lot more about build quality, reliability, durability and accuracy.
I shoot quite a bit and the ammo often/always ends up costing more than the rifle itself in the long term
