well... my gen2 rifle has exactly these issues. I just put the factory trigger back in, I will let you know when I shoot it this friday.
I am expecting that the trigger was not the issue

Im 100% happy with my rifle. Its unfourtunate that some people are having small issues. What im not understanding why your here? You dont own a BCL and you're not adding anything constructive. Happy shooting with whatever toy you pick.

That is the wrong test, that is a method not necessarily for an AR-15. The test for an AR-308 is different.

No. This is completely wrong.
The actual test is to remove the firing pin retainer, firing pin, and cam pin, and then hold the bolt carrier with the bolt facing downwards. If the bolt falls out under its own weight, then the rings should be replaced, and that's only assuming your are not using mcfarland 1 piece gas rings (they have less friction than 3-piece rings).
ETA new vid....yanked the firing pin retaining pin, the firing pin and the cam pin as per Mallice's post.
The bolt didn't exactly fall out of the carrier without some shaking.
I have a feeling it might not have been cycling properly because the thing was bone dry? Anyway, lubed it up with some CLP and will try again this weekend.

So I took my Black, 2nd pre order, SN about 480ish, out to Range on Monday night for first time ever. I put 40 rounds thru it, seemed to work fine, with nice tight groups (indoor range, so no teaser pic) Loaded mag prefers to be inserted on an open bolt and one FTF, but otherwise shoots pretty good and consistent. I can see a more beefier stock in the near future, but nothing else was troubling.
I used Hornady Steel 155gr BTHP I had kicking around, next time I'll use Norc surplus.

Finally took out the bcl to test it out. Shooting hinterberger (spelling?) Ammo. Feeding out of a pmag and an ASC 10 rounder magazine. Couldn't go through one mag without at least one failure to feed where the round ends up as you see it. Pull back on the bolt a bit and let
go and it chambers and shoots fine.
Also, rounds are basically dropping at my feet, maybe a foot or two to the 3 oclock. But half the time I can bend over and pick up the brass without moving my feet. I mean it's an awesomely soft shooting gun but that seems to be too soft.

I don't know where the internet got this one from, but this is absolutely not the proper way to test gas rings.
The proper way to test gas rings is to take out the cam pin and firing pin and to hold the BCG in the air with the bolt facing down. If the bolt stays there, the rings are good, if the bolt falls out, the rings need to be changed.
Wayyyyy too many good gas rings get changed out because of the improper method.
An AR will run on one lone good gas ring.
Some of their AR's had this issue too, not very positive contact with the bolt catch, removing a mag would be enough for the bolt to drop... suckage....
