9mm Powder Recommendations... Let's Hear Them!

Thank you once again all for your posts and recommendations, as well as some great explanation on power factor for IPSC. It looks as though Win231/HP-38 may be the starting powder for my 9mm reloads. Looking forward to getting started.

"On sale" is my favourite brand. I've had good results with all of them.

I always used CCI primers, but tried Canada Ammo's 'Dominion' branded primers and they have been great at a much cheaper price. Not sure if they are still available though.
 
I currently use Alliant Promo and have had great results with it over the last ~15K rounds in various calibers (9mm, 38spl, 45acp). The powder measure on my Hornady LnL meters it quite accurately (0.1gr deviation at most) once the powder has settled in the hopper.

Promo is primarily a shotgun powder, you won't find any published data for Promo for 9mm but it is identical to red dot if you load by charge weight. It's a very bulky powder so there is absolutely no chance you can double charge a case. I load 4.1gr under a 124gr campro bullet and you can't get much more powder into the case.

Best part is the cost, the current going rate for an 8lb keg of pistol powder is ~$230 range, an 8lb keg of promo is around $180. The only downside is that it's only available in 8lb kegs.
