So I managed to acquire a HK UMP9 SF variant from an estate. This is the semi-auto lower with the 0,1 position selector switch. 8" 9mm flanged polygonal barrel on the upper. The handstop for the front of the forestock was missing but I have a replacement that I will install instead of the lower rail.

I am thinking of an Aimpoint Micro T2 as the optic although an old school Hensoldt RSA would give it the right look. Optic suggestions appreciated.

I would classify it as excellent+ condition as it shows near zero handling or wear marks. The buffer shows no wear. I suspect the original owner might have put a box or two of ammo through it by the condition of the bolt and lower. It came with four 5/30 mags.

Apparently, there were a few (less than 9) brought into Canada under a theatrical permit directly from HK Germany. The company went into receivership and these were sold off legally to legitimate buyers. The sale of MIL/LE variants to civilians is prohibited by the German government so HK tried to get these back.

I am planning to test her out if the weather cooperates and will post a range report. I must admit I am pretty stoked about this acquisition and can hardly wait to test it out. I have been saving a case of 1000 Winchester Silvertip 115gr JHP Law Enforcement ammo for a special occasion. This is definitely it.

Here it is with a custom Pelican Storm case.

Beautiful gun! I toyed with the idea of building up something similar from a USC but the the price was prohibitive.

This one will definitely maintain its value since it's so rare.

Enjoy it!

I remember this when it happened, maybe ten years ago? I wish I remembered what they sold for then? I wonder if it would have been a good investment or not. :)

Very sweet!!!!

I enjoyed the 2 clones I made. I hope that the Gideon Omega version is approved here in canada now

Thanks. The Gideon's are nice kit although I understand they ship with a folding brace to meet US SBR compliance rules and HK folding replacement stocks are hard to find. B&T makes a nice alternative though.

This UMP came up and I could not pass on the opportunity.

Am I far off in thinking this would sell for $15,000.00 in this country?

Yes, by at least $5K too high. There is another for sale at Tier 1 Armoury in Edmonton for $9K. It has been sitting for months. IMO those prices sre insane for a largely polymer firearm, rarity taken into account. Even 5K would be stretch for me. Given the choice I'd much rather have an MP5 or SIG MPX. In reality, kit is the rarity thst makrpes the UMP series desirable in Canada. Aside from that, they are an OK blow-back plastic subgun firing from a closed bolt a-la the Scorpion EVO.

Not trying to be a downer. The Op scored a nice, ultra-rare subgun. But let's keep things in perspective...
