Sweet! Post some pics up of that thing when you get it on there.
Mine is at 20" with open cylinder. Cut, flushed up and I drilled and tapped it for a brass bead sight myself.
Just bad ass. Too much fun to blow up pumpkins and jugs of tap water etc
I only keep one firearm in the bedroom for defense and it's the model 12 with heavy game load 2-3/4" shells.
Stored legally of course! But readily accessible.
Here is the 1918 made all original one I rebuilt/refinished (purists take note it was literally shot; broken parts, no finish, considerable surface rust, rear stock was split down the length etc):

Wow, not too shabby for a 100 year old gun!

Don’t know how you did it, was that an iPhone? On mine I hit the picture thing, I brings up insert pictures but gives a url address line to fill in, no camera option. But I don’t pretend to be an I.T guy at all.... lolI guess it does work.
Edit a post, click on attach image, then 'camera'. Take the photo, then click on the 'upload' button in the browser. Should work

I have pre 64 model 12's in 12,16, and 20 gauge along with a pre war pigeon grade in 95-98% condition. Some of the best shotguns ever made! There's no way I could ever sell mine.
Thank you "THARKHOLD" for posting my pics for me.
"no problem"
The irony of all this is that I uploaded your pictures to here from my phone, while on a bio break.. hahaha technology
I'd say probably been hot blued again once in it's life.
It looks like the new barrel (short) does not quite index up tight enough. It may need some draw sleeve adjustment.
