What is your black bear rifle for this year?

The one on the bottom......

Looking forward to trying out some reloads. .500gr PC and gassed checked pills I cast loaded for 45-70 Marlin 1895 SS and 500gr interlocks loaded in 458 win Zastava bolt action.
Fingers crossed I can get up there.

Cheers

A modern take on the .375 H&H. Mag fed Remington 700 L/A with a 24" McGowen barrel in an adjustable McMillan Game Warden stock. Heavy, sturdy, and deadly, just like the game it was built for. This rifle pushes 300 gr Sierra Gamerkings at 2630 fps. They have the exact same drop than a .308 to 600 yards. Zeroed at 200 and I'm not planning on shooting that far with it.

Looks like I won't get to go spring bear this year, I'm hoping the fall will be better.

I am going to use 2 rifles this spring, a Kimber classic select in 270 win using talley’s Holding an hd5 3-15x42 with turrets launching handloads of 140 accubonds. The next rifle is a T3x super lite in 7RM using talley’s holding a VX3i 4.5-14x50 with cds and the wind plex, so far the Tikka is shooting the hornady factory 162 eldx into small groups so I will use them until I can load develop this summer. The snow is almost all gone in the Peace country of B.C. Once it greens up a little more, the bears will be out and about. Good luck to you bear hunters and find a big old pumpkin head!

Two options:

No4 mk1 Enfield
12g pump with rifled slug barrel

Hopefully I find a sabot that shoots well in the 12g, I really want to take a black bear with it. But we shall see how it groups, the no.4 seldom disappoints so I always have a back up if the 12g falls short.

Cz 527 7.62x39 if I get the chance to go out. Or maybe my Tavor. Haven't settled on which one yet...

I think I will try to initiate my 257 Weatherby this spring. I'll be shooting the 115 Partition, chased by 70 grains of Reloder 25.
But, I have a smoking load in my 336A Marlin that begs a shot at Blackie as well. [ 170 Norma FP, 37 grains of Leverevolution]
Maybe one with each? :) Dave.
