Electronic Ear Pro for Hunting

CO probably was talking about electronic calls? Just a guess.

What he said about electronic ear muffs was in response to a question specifically about electronic ear muffs - I'll send him an email to ask which paragraph this rule comes from and update here.

Electronic calls are authorized at least starting this spring, electronic ear muffs may be a part of that too.

Take this for what it's worth, whether correct or not, there are some COs out there that believe these cannot be used. (He was quite well educated on the subject of antiques and target shooting on public land btw) Be prepared for this if you use electronic ear muffs.

Check here in the prohibted section:

https://www.mffp.gouv.qc.ca/english/publications/online/wildlife/hunting-regulations/arms/gear.asp

It is prohibited to:

...

hunt using a means or electronic or other device that makes it possible to detect or indicate the immediate presence of an animal to hunt it. However, an in-ear sound amplifier that amplifies sound to facilitate listening is authorized;

"hunt using a means or electronic or other device that makes it possible to detect or indicate the immediate presence of an animal to hunt it."

That's a leap from wearing an electronic ear/sound device for ear (read: health) protection.

...This was answered already. There's an independent mic and speaker in each muff. They're as "directional" as your natural hearing is.

I think there are some units that are "mono", so buyers should be sure to choose ones with dual independent mics and speakers if they want/need that feature.
