I have discovered that my 8mm Mag shows a definite preference for the Swift A-Frame bullets.
Using healthy doses of Reloder 26, and allowing about .050 - .060 jump to the lands, I am seeing
groups under 1 moa, and splendid velocities. [the 200 makes 3180 fps, the 220, 3040]
[no excess pressure indications] Recoil is not exactly a maiden's caress.
At 100 meters, the two bullets land exactly 1" apart, straight vertically. I believe I will be set to
hunt elk in grizz country this fall, lol. This rifle is built on a 700 action with a 26" Benchmark barrel.
Bedded into a Bell and Carlson with a bedding block. Decelerator pad and a Triggertech trigger at
2¾ lbs.
Loads are as follows [with usual cautions...start low and work up] 200 A-Frame, Nosler Brass
Federal 215 Primer, 84 grains of Reloder 26. 220 A-Frame, exactly the same except 80.5 grains of Reloder 26.
COL for both loads - 3.60"
