The Battle Rifle Pictures Thread

Thanks, certainly got lucky with Googling at the right time. I'm just waiting to hear from a buddy if he could weld a connector arm to a Fulton Armory faux selector.

They're "okay". Not 100% reliable like the Norc or German M14 mags I have.

Ballpark, maybe 1FTF per mag and a little fussy to seat in like the A1A mags (i.e. not as quick)

I found it was usually within the first 5 rounds I'd get a misfeed on it. Once I got going it went smooth.

Obviously a different mag too, so hold-open on last round.

Took the M14 back out to Abby for some more plinking. Brought the good camera this time.

I know, I was on crack when I circled a 6 in group and a 4 in group.

Anyway, the best group I could manage with the Leupold VX-R was 1.7" at 100m. Maybe I could have done better with more magnification and a finer reticle, maybe not. I was just happy the thing cycled because I'd had some trouble getting the thing to cycle 7.62 for the longest time, but it seems to like 155 gr Hornady Steel Match:

Still a work in progress...

Previous owner:

The Good:
Headspaced, unitized gas system, solid op-rod guide.

The Bad:
Spray bombed the Chu Wood and UHG Black. Removed the stripper clip guide and mounted an absolute sh!t side mount scope mount.

Me: So far just the Boyd's walnut stock. Came unfinished, no hardware. Worked in 20 coats of BLO over the course of a month, then let it cure for a year. While it was curing, tracked down USGI metal for the stock.

Going to run a 100 or so rounds through it with the iron sights as is, get it zeroed and the stock and action "seated", then fine tune the bedding.

Will swap out the UHG for... I dunno, haven't decided if I should go with either a walnut UHG, or brown USGI UHG.

Still undecided on whether to go with a CASM Gen II mount for a scope, or a SADLAK Airborne.
