C-71 & Wolverine Supplies

" Wolverine Supplies as your friend, industry partner and firearms advocate are pleased to inform you that John and Matt Hipwell have been invited to make a presentation to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Public and National Security in Ottawa. They will be presenting on May 31st to inform the committee of the problems of proposed Bill C-71, in particular regarding future approval and classification of firearms. "

- A message from the Hipwell Family & Everyone at Wolverine Supplies.

This is short an sweet folks just to let you know that we will be going there and we are going to do our absolute best. If you haven't already, make sure everyone you know has signed and shared the E-Petition 1608. The link is below, I am probably preaching to the choir here but it is necessary for every firearms owner in Canada to do so.

YES!!!!

Great news - You guys are great representatives. My Brief was published a few weeks ago and I asked to be selected to speak. In anticipation of possibly speaking I prepared some information. I know you guys are extremely well informed but here are a few things I have found that might be of value during your visit. I am still hoping to be called but I doubt a lowly lifelong tax paying small business owner and occasional firearms enthusiast would be allowed to grace the hallowed grounds of the liberal SECU.

Anyway here are the talking points I have.

- Ethics Violations of Natalie Prevost (Why was an adviser allowed to send lobbying information to MPs)
- Pre-determined SECU timeline of June 7th (Sounds like they are committed to maintaining some schedule)
- Complete dismissal of a range trip to become better informed on current firearm legislation.
- Failure to address current 1608 Petition to scrap the Bill
- RCMP website changing after bill was tabled
- Liberal party restrictions to debate on the bill
- 100k emails sent without reply
- Ralph Goodale just publicly stated “I don’t reject anything out of hand” in response to a petition with 75 signature but will not address 75K signatures already for scrapping the bill.
-The RCMP is already Requiring firearms owners to register there firearms by June 30th when the bill is not even passed yet.
- Ralph Goodale wrote an editorial about C-71 while also being the main driving force - http://www.theguardian.pe.ca/opinion/letter-to-the-editor/letter-gun-crime-bucking-trend-206166/
-Mark Holland wrote a editorial and is sitting on SECU committee https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/mark-holland/andrew-scheer-gun-control_a_23412680/

Please reach out to me if you want any additional information on these topics and I can provide as much data as I can!

Keep up the good fight guys. I am eagerly awaiting my wk180 and will continue to support all retailers that support the cause!!!

Some info graphics for you to present if needed.

Sorry... What firearms am I required to register by June 30th???

If you own a CZ858 or Swiss arms you must register by June 30th to be grandfathered. Even though there is no chance the bill will pass by that date.

Lots of info here!

John from wolverine already commented on it. This is why I am so happy they will be speaking. Maybe they can get some info or clarification on this total joke of a bill. I also will be writing my local media outlets asking they report on this issue specifically when witnesses like John and the CCFR are speaking.

This is good stuff. Thanks.

Never easy to find stats regarding gun violence caused by REGISTERED firearms. It really demonstrates the law abiding qualities of the vast majority of Canadian gun owners, as well the fact that I personally believe our laws strike a reasonable balance (leaving aside restricted vs non-restricted and magazine capacity).

DO NOT register a damn thing,it's NOT law yet for the 858 and SA,and even then i do not of a single owner of these particular guns that will comply with registration, and there are a ton of owners who will NEVER comply, and more power to them, once again, when the RCMP sees a 90% or more NON compliance rate, they'll see they can't bully gun owners, they tried that with the original registry and it fell flat on their face,85% of known firearms were NEVER registered, even after repeated threats of federal charges, owners STILL didn't comply, they were very surprised that gun owners would simply dissregard them, and this time will be no different.

Although I agree 100% in principle. What happens if you don't comply. Bill becomes law, then they track you down and find you knowingly did not comply. I really cannot afford to go to prison for a few years because of making a statement. As much as I hate admitting it, I know I am bending to the power, but I also have a young family that depends on me. Me being in prison is worse then being dead for my family.

If you think that is about firearms only and it will stop here you are dead wrong. Once a government start confiscating and letting the police run things it's will lead to a very ugly ending. And taking about gangs what is a group of people backed up by armed security forces, planning to take away freedom and property of normal every day citizens? Think about it. Can these guys really be trusted? History has shown us that they change the mind and ..............

Duh, of course you can trust the police. They are public safety experts.

After all, if you’ve done nothing wrong then why would you ever worry about registering your property, handing over a DNA sample, and giving them full access to your internet history?

Sarcasm aside, yup we are the thin edge of the wedge.
