what does a 6.5 creedmore do that a 6.5 x 55 doesn't?

Wrong again...

30-30 velocity is not exactly impressive.

Interesting comparison that a 308 win will shoot 155's near 3000 fps, or 165's over 2900 yet a 6,5 CM can't grab 2550 fps with a similar weight of bullet.

308 win 140's at 3030, 6.5CM 140's at 2730. Large difference there as well.

Case capacities are close between the two. No?

Not really. 308 hold 56gr of H20 and Creedmoor holds 52.5gr. And the the BC of 140gr .264 is about 0.620 depending on the bullet vs. The 308 Win would have a BC of about 0.390. So anything beyond 300 yards and it’s not even comparable. But you guys can just keep exposing your embarrassing lack of knowledge if you like...

Yes, the slowest 6.5 cartridge available is someone magically superior to all the rest because it fits into a short action and has cheap factory match ammo available lol.
How does it handle 160gr pills? Oh right, it doesn't.

Oh gee. Thanks for pointing that out. Do you hunt? At all?

A 168 gr bullet from a 308 win is nearly identical in trajectory to a 140gr 6.5 CM to 500yrds.
Have you shot big game with a 6.5 CM? Was it as revolutionary as you had hoped it was?

Why would Hornady come out with the re-invented 260 Rem called a 6.5 creedmore and in a relatively short time frame introduce the 6.5 PRC?
Was the cm a mistake of sorts? Can't be for 2 different purposes? Unless the cm is for target and the PRC is for hunting...

That’s what they do. It makes them money.

6.5PRC duplicates 6.5x284 velocity, again, nothing new or groundbreaking, but pay some gun rags to write positive reviews and the fanboys will lap it up because it's new.

When was the last time a new cartridge wasn’t written about in a gun magazine?

This is getting ridiculous bordering on dishonest.

The problem is not that they write about it, if you want to discuss "dishonesty," consider taking money to sugar coat and spew "glowing praise" about something that is virtually identical to well established cartridges...

Personally, I have no problem with it... the hype generates interest, which translates to cash for manufacturers, but it also represents promotion of the sport and attracts new participants... all good. However for those of us experienced in outdoor pursuits, there is no need to buy in to the hype... just acknowledge that it is a necessary evil. It is in all of our best interest to have a varied and financially viable manufacturing sector.
