Loads in my custom 350 RM Remington 798 can safely do a couple of hundred fps more than standard ballistics. It's built on a long action so COAL isn't restricted to 2.800". Bullets can be seated out to maximize case capacity. Features a McGowen Precision 24" 1:12" twist barrel.

Good results with Re17 which is designed for short magnum case capacity. No signs of excessive pressure. Loads are near maximum. Muzzle energy of the 250gr load is 4200 ft-lbs.

.350 Rem. Mag. custom Remington 798 with Leupold VX-2 Ultralight 3-9x33mm

250gr at 2400 fps muzzle speed with my 35 Whelen Remington 7400 (22" 1:16 barrel). 2750 fps is a sizeable improvement.

Ramshot Big Game you say, 109 on the 1 to 150 relative burn rate scale. Re17 is 118. Peak pressure would be a bit higher. The loads could take a bit more Re17. I'm pretty sure I could safely reach 2800 fps MV with a 250gr bullet. At 2750 fps this allows for a margin of safety to include factors such as metal fouling, ambient temperature extremes,... etc.

Those look awesome Slam. I haven't done a lot of loading yet for my Rem 673 in 350 Rem Mag but I did recently do up some loads with the 200 gr Barnes TSX with TAC powder straight out of the barnes Manual. With the 673 Built on the Model 7 action my COAL is pretty limited. The Barnes Manual has the 200 gr pushed with TAC exceeding 2900 fps with a 20 inch barrel. With the 22 inch from the 673 I am hoping to duplicate or best that. As long as it group well, I'll be pretty excited with those velocities. I currently have some 310 gr Woodleighs loaded for my 358 Norma. I contacted Woodleigh to see if they had any data for the "Norma Jean" and they didn't but they said they would get it. 2 weeks later I had three different powder options and some min and max options for each. Pretty great customer service. Clearly, they love to shoot at that company! I'll post some data when I get out...

Seems to be the best for 35's and 9.3's. I've used RL-17, Varget, H-4895, V-V N 550 and RS Big Game while not giving the highest velocity is an accurate well rounded load and is tolerant to slight loading and atmospheric changes.

In my 9.3x66 Sako RS Big Game will give 2525 ft/s with a 286 NP, 2650+ ft/s with a 250gn Accubond. The Accubond, with its 0.494 BC is a point and shoot 300 yard cartridge, ranging and dialing puts ~ 1 ton of energy at 500 yds and is doable.

Interesting
Have seen numbers of 3% given as improved efficiency for short mag type cases, your numbers are close
350 case has 1 gr more water cap. compared to 35 whelan

Seems that medium burn rate powders work best in the 35 Whelen and the like which don't have very sharp shoulder angles. The 350 RM shoulder angle is sharper (25 degrees) so the slower burn rate powders work well if you can fit enough in which means seating the bullets out to maximize case capacity.

I used to have M600 in 350 Remington Mag.....sadly in a moment of weakness I sold it to a member here!

Despite punishing recoil the rifle would shoot sub-MOA with Max load of IMR-4320 and Speer 250gr Spitzer.

It was devastating round...

The modestly priced Zastava's (or Remington 798's, same thing) are good project rifles. Mauser action. And doesn't affect resale value by much.

The 310gr load is preferred for hunting. Second choice would be the 250gr but with a Swift A-Frame bullet. Or with a 250gr X bullet except it's been discontinued.

I have a FN98 Mauser 9,3x57 that I've loaded to almost 30-06 pressure levels, getting well over 2400 fps with a 280 gr bullet. Still working on loads but it seems 2500 fps is easily within reach. The 9.3x57 CIP max pressure is 38K psi because of some of the weaker actions that used it 110-120 years ago. There is substantial room to improve performance with stronger modern brass and actions.
