BCL 102 stripped receiver set thread

Built out the lower this afternoon using a parts kit from Geiselle. Everything fit together as it should except for the rear detent which was too small for the detent pin. I forced it, which I should not have, and it works but the spring is just there for show now. Luckily the upper and lower fit is super tight and requires a bit of a tap to move the takedown pins to separate the upper and lower. Magpul UBR stock fits well but required a bit of filing on the nub on the stock below the hole for the threaded extension in order for the stock to sit fully flush against the rear of the receiver. It sits tight and flush now and looks good, but will not retain the buffer spring assembly. This is not an issue for me as I plan on using a jp captured silent spring. Magpul MIAD grip fits perfect. Geiselle SSA trigger assembly dropped right in. Looking forward to getting a few more parts and starting on the upper.

Can anyone tell me if they had any problem removing their buffer tube on the Gen 2? Mine is tight AF! I don’t want to risk bending the lower or damaging the lowers threads....trying to swap the buffer tube for an AR Stoner buffer tube and spring set that should fit the PRS I bought for it (so I didn’t just waste 400$ on a stock I can’t use)

I didn't have any issues but I whacked myself with the wrench when the castle nut came loose lol yeah it was right but not impossible

Like I said I swapped the aeroprecision gas key with the BCL factory one and the aeroprecision carrier would still not close. Something with the aeroprecision is mounting the gas key a little too high or a little too low.

I had an issue that the index pin slot was slightly out of sqaure causing issue with the bolt locking into the extension. Soft non anodized metal could also deform a bit allowing the barrel to rotate slightly as it is tightened. I had to use lock Tite and moly to make sure it didn't move at all. Similar issue with the stripped set but not as bad as my complete unit.

That is because the gas tube sits higher in the receiver than in a AR-308, and most likely you are trying to put a AR-308 BCG in a receiver that is designed to have an AR-10 BCG. Measure the height of the two BCG at the base where the gas key fits onto the carrier, and measure to the top of the gas key. you should have your answer.

Yep, it's either impacting the very end of the gas tube due to height differences, or it's indexing properly, but the tube is too long and it's stopping it from fully seating.

Armalite tubes are longer than dpms

I am having a similar issue. It seems like the gas tube and key line up just fine but the tube doesn't go in at all.

I got the Fulton Armalite AR10 style gas tube. Mistake? How deep do other peoples gas tubes sit in the upper? Seems to look right compared to an AR15.

I posted on this a while back, the BCL gas key is cut deeper so the gas key will allow a longer gas tube. Had the same problem when I went to JP BCG, bolt would not close, replaced gas tube with a proper mid length gas tube and works perfectly.

Here is gas tube in BCL BCG, I marked how far it went into the gas key

And here is gas tube going into JP BCG
