BCL 102 stripped receiver set thread

There is about 20 receiver sets of various colors on the SFRC store, 8 or so custom cerakote receiver set and handguard combos.

I commend Ryan for keeping these in stock! I like the direction.

Depending on the specs of the short action Wolverine rifle, I may buy another set in the future.

Alright. This thread got me. How can I pass up the opportunity to fiddle and customize. Sounds like a receiver set is the way to go for me. I can hide the cost better by buying parts here and there instead of one large CC bill. Now... are receiver sets still available and who has the best deal? What colours are available?

I got my raw aluminum receiver set & 2nd upper yesterday from my LGS. The machining on it looks decent for the most part, a few sharp corners and burrs here & there. At least I can fit parts, de burr, function check parts before I get it anodized. Unfortunately I had to leave for work this morning, so I’ll play with it a bit more when I get home in a week. I have most of the parts to complete the lower, upper parts I still have to order. I honestly doubt I will have this rifle completed before 2019.

I haven’t looked at th budget parts too much, $1500 + receiver set budget would be much easier.

A good barrel and BCG is 850 a good trigger is 300 a good handguard is 250 and you have a way nicer product than what BCL offers

Mine Cost me 3K to build with receiver set. But you can easily build one for around 2200 if you use a cheap barrel and BCG.

Havent had any issues with Hirt ammo in mine. But I havent tested the new Fulton BCG and Barrel yet ( Next week im heading up hunting, and will put 500 rounds thru it ) until then I cant comment on mine.

The Other one I built for a buddy with all my spare parts has seen 350 rounds so Far and not 1 singe issue. And saw 150 rounds of Hirt in my gun before the barrel swap in mine as well with no issues.

Just make sure you take your time and dont cheap out when building these rifles. Check all the parts and if they suck buy new ones.
