Hi Guys hoping someone can help me out with a couple firm answers and possibly valuation on an old Britsh Bulldog revolver. I have researched it a fair bit and have a good idea of what it is I believe. Unfortunately cannot post pictures to this site. I believe it to be a .320 cal BRITISH BULL DOG centerfire. It is a 6 shot. Has the ELG proof marks on cylinder face and also a 5 and a 1. Would this little gun be prohib or does antique status trump prohib as I have been told? The pistol appears to be intact and functions as it should with a bit of movement on cylinder but appears to line up proper. Apparently it hasn’t been shot in an older grandpas lifetime. I Know nothing of antiques at all so any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Guys! Cheers Rp

Had one in .32 Cal. Cheap Belgian copy of the original Forehand & Wadsworth. Didn't lock up in perfect chamber alignment with bore. Traded for something more useful. This was before Firearms Act and prohibited class. I don't think these were made early enough to qualify as antique, but others may know better.

This fellow might be able to help you: ht tp://www.littlegun.be/arme%20belge...ifies%20gb.htm

If the ELG proofmark has a crown on top it would be hard to prove it antique.
If it turns out to be 32 lc or s&w it'll be prohib.
you're going to need to run it past a verifier.

Thanks for the info guys. The ELG letters are in a circle with no crown. Thanks very much to all who have contributed thus far. Quite interesting these little guns.

Thanks very much for the info so far guys I am leaning towards it being an antique myself, and am getting in touch with someone who will be able to verify 100% it’s status either way. Do any of you fine CGNr’s have any ideas towards value ranges on these little pistols? Thanks in advance. Cheers Rp

Webley made the original Bulldog, F&W copied it.
