The new Tikka T1X Rimfire

Way to muich plastic for my liking. By the time a person spends the money to upgrade the plastic to metal and wood they might as well have just bought an Anschutz in the first place.

Typical, always when you really want something.....however, think of it this way, by the summer a bunch of folks will have shot them and wrung them out, and we will have some idea how good they are, or how good they could be.
 
The waiting for these to arrive is getting hard . Anyone else planning on changing the stock on theirs and if so what are you going with ? I have been thinking of going to a LSS stock from MDT. I have a had a couple of them in the past and like them.

My first thought was "Who would have a chassis out for this rifle already?" and then I realized it is a standard T3 footprint and should fit any of the dozens of aftermarket stocks that re already out there for the T3!! That makes the T1x all taht much more attractive now!
 
I've got a nice walnut Hunter stock currently on a .243 T3. That action may go back into the original Tupperware stock and let the T1x wear the fancy clothes for a while.
 
I ordered one of the Tikka rimfire rifles, when it arrives it will get swapped into one of the following stocks, a McMillan A3 adjustable, a German Gun Stock Raptor, or a coming soon PSE Composites E-Tac4 Ultra Light. Will tweak the trigger a little here at home, add a canted base and maybe my Razor 5-20 and get it ready for some CRPS matches.
 
One possible issue for aftermarket stocks is the bottom metal, I expect the stocks will require their own which may take time for them to release...?

Ugh, my first pre-order ever and it's dragging so long...
 
American rumours. They haven’t even been shipped from the factory yet,they’re guessing August now. Nothing from Canadian stores yet, maybe they should make a phone call!

What I have heard is that the”bottom metal” was made large so it would also fit the T3 stocks
