VERY easy to assemble the receiver into the stock. Losen sliding retainers, fit in receiver, slide it all home, tighten allen scews for retainer plates. Done.

Unless you are spending the $$$$ and building a Precision/sniper/DMR M14, these types of stocks are pointless. They are expensive and heavy with, little gain unless doing a complete build.

The $$$$$$ spent on one of these stocks would be better spent initially on a better barrel/bolt/trigger, etc............

Been there, done that......................Just my $0.02................;)

SKBY.

Anyone buying one of these stocks is doing it purely because he has too much money. Not because he wants to make a super smart buy. It's purely for the "cool" factor.

Not knocking you guys! It's by far the BEST looking stock out there...but c'mon...$1000 for a set of plastic? :p

..........I liked it, I bought it. How many of the nay sayers, chrome their bikes, put wings and fart cans on their street racers. The stock might not, in itself, make the rifle a tack driver, but it can't hurt. At least it's functional. Other mods will come in time. As with many things M305, you grab it when you can, or regret your procrastination later on. To each his own, I have the spare cash, I made the purchase. Don't like it? Don't buy it.

It's not just for the LCF. It's fully adjustable to yourself. Well balanced and comfortable. The action locks in solid with two titanium blocks. If you'd ever held one you'd know what I mean. It's kinda like a Harley, if you gotta ask the price or why ride one, you'll never truly understand. If I pay for it and accept what I receive for the price, it's for me to judge. No one else. I don't have to justify how I spend my disposable income to anyone, especially aliases on the internet.

Sure.

But if we all followed that logic, the pretty girls would all waste away at home while the stout, calloused child-bearing slavic types were getting wined and dined. Thank #### its not that way.

Buy what makes you feel good and be happy with it.

FWIW, my Socom remains largely Geneseo factory condition as I found the LCF stocks to be cumbersome.

So after I have spent the $$ of a new bolt, barrel, trigger group, firing pin, gas system, new muzzle brake, extended bolt release, Tritium Bar Combat Sight, tactical rings and a SEI 2006 mount - am I done? oh, I forgot a nice NF, Leupold, Ziess, H&S or US Optics scope and maybe a GG&G bi-pod - I guess there is no point replacing the Norinco wood?

The price of a nice McMillian or Robertson is not that much cheaper than a JAE? I was working on the impression that once you have improved the mechanics of the rifle, maybe the stock would be the next thing.

I think is you have already spend the $$$ of the above shopping list, a $1000 stock is just a drop in the bucket.

Just my $3000 - $4000 ...

/cl

By the time you put a grip and stock on the Troy or even the marstar its close to $1000 also.(gotta say I like em).I figure if after awhile if I want to try something different than the JAE it will still have a good resale value.
As for Skullboys comment, I hope my wife dosen't read your post!!:p:p
Cheers.
