Maccabee Defense SLR information and updates

I do when it comes from the guy who's building the reciever sets....

Sorry, my bad.
I just thought ,as they were machining lowers for a couple of weeks now, that it shouldn’t take much longer.
They only need anodizing , so didn’t think that would take a couple of months.

I was just at CDN Gunworx and checked out the SLR. After finally seeing it first hand I have no doubt that it will be worth the wait. It was nicer than I expected.

I was told that if I believe what they say I am naive or stupid or something like that. These are only estimates and if they tell us two weeks we should be prepared to wait up to two years without complaint.

I waited for the type81 over 4 years December is nothing

And look how many people swore they would never deal with TI again.
Also (not to rub it in) I bought into the T81 after they were through customs and I think I got my rifle before you and with all four magazines I ordered.
I don't agree with how they handled that and do think the early orders should have shipped first but I say it to show that A. These retailers and importers don't give a flying F about us, and B. the pre-order is a crap idea to buy into. Even now I think that $1000 I spent on the T81 would have been better spent on a WK180C or FX9, I can't imagine how many other opportunities you had to use your $1000 on something else while waiting.

Yes, they are extremely classy and build great products, NOT vaporware.
What vaporware, MDI has delivered several sets to several dealers.

$800 of that price is just the non restricted tax

If you understood the cost of machining a receiver set vs completing a forging you might have a different opinion. If you understood that a COMPLETELY NEW DESIGN being machined for a VERY SMALL MARKET has increased costs for production you might have a different opinion. Then again why cloud your opinion with facts.. A Milled AR15 recevier set is about $800 Cdn, so paying $1000 for a NEW DESIGN that isn't massed produced and has ZERO market anywhere outside Canada is a pretty smokin deal.

I ordered a WK180-C. ...And yup, I'm going to agree with you that ATRS has a pretty good chance of delivering before MacDef

Well you would be wrong like so many others. MDI is delivering receiver sets.

I waited for the type81 over 4 years December is nothing

And you paid in full, a foolish move IMO.

Total change in build plans for one of my SLR's.

After handling the MacDef I've decided that it will make for a good long range/prs build as it is a heafty solid receiver.

Got a Seekins Precision .224 Valkyrie 20" stainless cerakoted 5r barrel and a Magpul PRS on the way now. Also putting a BLK LBL Bi-pod 14" handguard on that i already have.

The Stag A2 retro rifle kit that was planned to go on this is now going on the ATRS receiver. I think the A2 build would look A LOT better on the ATRS.

Prob more places but Questar can get them for you

How much and where did you order that barrel?
I've got a DD 6.8 bolt in the parts box and that cartridge looks pretty good :)

Thanks for the links CR.

I ordered the barrel from IRG. $280 usd + the $25 shiping charge + today's chitty exchange rate = $401 CAD

EDIT: + Canadian shipping + 5% gst. So about $450 at my door

Well Maccabee just S#!T the bed

New development. I'm told that instead of anodizing, the receivers will be cerakoted in Graphite Black H Series, by a state of the art cerakote facility (Red Deer Shooting Centre), and that this will make for better QC and faster output.

Can't even deliver the product as advertised f:P:

Must have been trained by BCL
