One last thing... I ordered one of the laminated FRTs when you put them up on the website. I mentioned that including it with my receiver set would be fine so you didn't have to waste money on shipping it separately. No response to that, and no FRT, so I assume that's still the plan?

Yes exactly

Did they arrive? And how do they look?

the anodizing itself is quite nice (a dull gray which usually comes along with hardness), but most of the pieces we received have a handful of small spots.

I've sent pics to the first people on the list to see if they'll accept them are not. so far it's about half and half accept/reject. some folks don't care since they are re-coating anyway, or planning to add lots of blems in use :D

This afternoon Maccabee notified me they have found a solution to the spots issue.

I will sending them back the rejects.

Updates will continue as I get them.

Nice work, For 1k I expect my new stuff to look new. I have other stuff for banging around through the bush but I like to keep all the rest of my my gear in like new condition. I work hard for my money as many do and take pride in ownership.

Now I just keep waiting ..... come on #182 haha

Any chance we can see some detailed pics of how the upper and lower are held together? Please

here's an old picture of the prototype upper. at the bottom you can see the dovetail ledges. the post at the right has a tapped hole going up into it that receives a screw to hold it all together. very simple system

shooter and ptemin, those are ideas worthy of consideration. we'll see how this shakes out.

New development. I'm told that instead of anodizing, the receivers will be cerakoted in Graphite Black H Series, by a state of the art cerakote facility (Red Deer Shooting Centre), and that this will make for better QC and faster output.

Disappointing. This has been a train wreck. Anodizing is a much better coating then cerakote. This is the final nail in the coffin for me. 1000 dollars for a cerakote bare upper and lower?

Forgive my ignorance, so cerakoting will be faster? Better quality?

I agree with the suggestion on offering the rejects up the queue, i’m willing to bet you won’t have to send any back.

Cerakote over bare aluminum? What is this, Black Creek Labs? Absolutely ridiculous, especially for $1000. Anodizing offers the best corrosion and wear resistance. I'd be happy to take a blemished anodized set for a discount.

F that!! That's NOT what they sold everyone. They should get told to find a competent annodizer and deliver the product as advertised or SHOVE IT UP THEIR ASS

Correct me if i'm wrong, but I was under the impression that you couldn't cerakote over cerakote... where does this leave those of us who had planned to cerakote a different colour than black?
