CANSOF IUR Clone thread

This too much, show me the list I must buy.

Pic of my build... so far. Next comes the paint :)

I used one of the 11.6 MRR barrels in its original configuration, at least for now.

Great Clone!

I do find it interesting CSOR adopted this configuration, it is near identical to the SAS IUR, minus the barrel length and recoil lug for the gl, (11.6 is better for dwell time)
The lowers are the same, down to the ergo grip and asap.

i wonder why they’d go with the asap endplate. It seems like there’s many better options. But from what I’ve seen, the Canadian users seem to have a lot of freedom when it comes to customizing their own weapons.

ASAP adapters work well and are commonly available on Magpul standing offers, just like the RSA. The sling hardware Magpul produces is some of the best around, in my opinion. QD swivels can fail, and often do.

The ARMS front sight has been replaced by Troy M4 BUIS in FDE almost across the board. The ARMS rear is fine, but the front is ####ing junk.

Otherwise, yeah, individual components seem to be swapped out a lot, based on photos from across the net. Some guns appear to be in Operator hands, some appear to be in Supporter hands, so it's hard to nail down what's at the bleeding edge.

Trying to find out if we can get any more. Looks like they may now be out of production as the contract is complete.
10" is sold out, we only have one 15.7 remaining

That barrel sleeve on the CSOR 11.6" gun should be standard on the 11.6" MRR if they use the same barrel profile.

The barrel of the 11.6" MRR barely has enough shoulder to support the crush washer. The sample in front of me has the crusher deformed because the shoulder is too narrow, the washer got squeezed into one side when torqued down. In fact, the inner diameter of the washer got squeezed out of the barrel and shaved off a bit.

This is dangerous, because if the crush washer is deformed too much and it is not longer round, it will be stuck under the muzzle thread! It is a major PITA to get a stuck crush washer like that out. it is also very marginal if the device needs to be timed with shims. The shims may deform.
