If you want top dollar for your rifle, which is NOT EXCELLENT IMHO but VG+, you will need to find provenance that the rifle is genuine.
I'm by no means saying it isn't by the way because word has it that not all of the rifles were recorded. That's rumor by the way and we all know how that works.
I have a No7 22 Longbranch that's MP marked. I was told some of them were stamped at Depot and some were stamped when they reached the detachment. There is a book on verified numbers. Mine isn't in it, so as far as I'm concerned it's an interesting piece, unverifiable but still valuable.
If your rifle's serial number is verifiable, no they weren't sent out in any order, then IMHO it's could fetch $1500 but if the rifle I have, which is verified by an Alan Lever purchase bill, is a hard sell at that price your rifle may be as well.
