Hey hey, word out of the GA in Thailand is that both PO and POL have been approved. As well Pistol Calibre Carbine is approved as a new Discipline. Still waiting to hear about slide milling etc.

This is what was proposed, Rob - it doesn't look like it was amended...

"17.2 Aftermarket open and optical/electronic sights (see Rules 5.1.3.1 and 5.1.3.2) and mounting plates are permitted, provided their installation and/or adjustment requires no alteration to the handgun other than the milling of the slide in order to facilitate the installation of an optical/electronic sight."

So that looks like milling is going to considered an acceptable modification. Gunsmiths have some work ahead of them, it would seem.

and we can now refinish our guns in Production too. whooooo hooooo Hello Kitty CZ here I come!

I should add - REMEMBER that the rule changes are effective January 1, 2019. Please wait to see actual published rules before you go milling your slide or refinishing you gun - just in case there's some error or misinterpretation.

I think the changes to trigger pull will lessen the need for Production Light Division. Allowing a min 3 lb trigger pull for striker fired pistols (and technically probably DA only pistols) should make the plastic guns a bit more competitive against the tans and CZs.

...and aftermarket triggers. :p

I am a little surprised on a few of the changes that are being approved.

Exactly. Striker guns got a big boost this rule book update.

Is this mean I can shoot my Shadow 2 in PO without a red dot?
That will be fun too.

Can’t say I agree with adding another division.
I tried PO and was alone, it made revolver feel crowded...
IMO to soon to start dividing it and all I see is we’re headed to everyone gets a trophy.
I actually went back to Production.

No.

"14. Only handguns listed as approved in the Production Division List on the IPSC website and fitted with an optical/electronic sight may be used in Production Optics or Production Optics Light Divisions."

Okay, thanks for the info.
I better wait a year now, since the new trigger weigh rule come out, we may have more guns get approve in production division list.
