There is nothing wrong with that bolt...
That's right.
Who cares anyways? It's now a used rifle that shows use. Shoot it more and get over it.
There is nothing wrong with that bolt...
It is laughable to even argue that factory grease if left intact strips a finish on the whole bolt body in 60 rounds.
The excuses like that take a lot of courage to even think of with a straight face. This is typical #### Remington quality and penny pitching that drive them from class actions to bankruptcies over and over again.
Wouldn't want to miss out on a chance to bash big green, would you? No worse nor better than a host of other makes out there, so not a great idea to single them out. D.
Using the excuse there are other makers of crappy guns is no excuse to pretend like lemington isn't junk.
Remington usual use black oxide on everything, just wear on tight fitting parts, I would have no problem with that and consider it good QC being that tight.
I don't own a single bolt gun that doesn't show wear of some sort.
if that is a milspec gun, the coating appears to be the spray on dry-film lubricant used on the inside of AR upper receivers and receiver extensions. Leave it. it will wear off in due time.
