Help: New Remington M24, Is bolt wear after 60 rounnds normal?

It is laughable to even argue that factory grease if left intact strips a finish on the whole bolt body in 60 rounds.

The excuses like that take a lot of courage to even think of with a straight face. This is typical #### Remington quality and penny pitching that drive them from class actions to bankruptcies over and over again.

Wouldn't want to miss out on a chance to bash big green, would you? No worse nor better than a host of other makes out there, so not a great idea to single them out. D.

Using the excuse there are other makers of crappy guns is no excuse to pretend like lemington isn't junk.

I won't pretend, but I continue to select and buy various 700 offerings, and have yet to experience the issues that a select few seem to have.
Interestingly, those few are quite vocal, and it is a waste of breath to many of us who continue to use the 700 platform in factory and aftermarket
variants. At present, I have 26 - M700 rifles, most are as issued, but several are builds. I am plenty happy with all of them. FWIW a couple are
recent issued rifles, and they look and function perfectly. D.

I also am a fan of the 700 but not the spa and am not fond of everyone bashing them. I will say that every 700 that I have had was significantly superior to every Tikka (which is the new flavour of the month)

Remington usual use black oxide on everything, just wear on tight fitting parts, I would have no problem with that and consider it good QC being that tight.
I don't own a single bolt gun that doesn't show wear of some sort.

this

have you seen a new savage bolt face ? They are garbage!

looks the same as my 700SPS varmint the bolts ar finnished kinda rough and then wear in not like the old days where the lugs were pollised and had a deep hot blue and the bolt body had been polished and pearled

It looks like my sps. Mine has copper stripes on it now from rounds in the mag. The finish is too rough for moving parts but no big deal the sps is a cheap rifle. I don't know if your model is cheap but I had an xcr with a smooth black finish that was polished and much nicer

if that is a milspec gun, the coating appears to be the spray on dry-film lubricant used on the inside of AR upper receivers and receiver extensions. Leave it. it will wear off in due time.

This....

The M24 coatings differ from other Rem 700 offerings due to the army requirements. The bolt body is 9A Sandstrom which contains graphite, while the remainder including handle is a epoxy finish.
