10,000 Enfields!

how come one email response says yes they can come to canada and another says we don't have a canadian disributor?
yes i realize they are two different entities responding but how can the guy in iyaly not know about loyalist?

Judging by the pics I saw, they are still over priced IMHO, and there is no way they are going to sit there and match bolts, and Bayonets.

Methinks there is too many middle men involved, that really don't need to be involved.

Seriously folks look up the price of scrap metal...that is the price they are paying for.

Oh well it was an interesting tease anyway.

Calum,

the idea that they are paying scrap metal prices is absurd. The Italian gov't surplused them, thus any prospective buyers put in tenders, for the whole lot, highest bidder wins.

Gov'ts from anywhere in the world don't set prices they auction things off.
Highest bidder wins, unless there is a little 'some-thing, some-thing' ya know.

Some times a company gets lucky, sometimes not.

Yes and no.

These are not Norinco products that you are used to...they are surplus scrap sold by the ton. The company in Canada that is selling these is a middle man for the company that is picking these up from the Italian Government...which is not selling these as individual rifles.

Just like any other Government Auction.

I'd be surprised if the first middle man is paying more then $5 to $10 per rifle, minus shipping costs of course.

Scary part is what the future holds for us with all the UN CaRp going on.

just checked their site again, and it looks like they're coming along with bolt matching, cataloging posting pics. With the latest pile of Garands that seem to be moving, is it really so unreasonable to consider paying $500+ for an in the wrap, with inspection tags, mint unissued Longbranch #4? My how times are changing!

$500 in the wrap would be a good price. :D

Price of enfields is going up and up (good think I have a few allready :p )

I think the Canadian market could handle a few hundred rifles in the $300 - $500 range

Scrap metal prices for guns that is ancient history, my friends in the US have told many times the first thing they see on the Government Agent desk when they walk into his Office is a copy of the latest Shotgun News and Gunlist.

We tried to get some of these rifles, but because of the high cost for each unit and the other many expenses involved it was not a money making proposition. Considering the moans and groans over the recent Garand importation I do not see anyone bringing those in anytime soon.

I saw these advertised wholesale in Europe, same conclusion. Way too expensive.

If Europeans will pay what they're charging for these mismatched rifles, someone could do well buying LEs in Canada and shipping them to Germany. :slap:
