I wondering if there are any 375 alaskan's in canada yet other than gatehouses. The african models are available.I'm trying to find an alaskan, hopefully under $3500;)

Thanks

My friend Canuck from AR purchased an African form WSS, maybe they have some?

Undoubtably, there is a long waiting list for those that wish to purchase either model, chambered in the MIGHTY 375 Ruger the NEW KING of the 375 caliber cartridges.

Hope y like yours as much as I like mine!!:)

The NEW KING, and current MIGHTY POPULAR CGN cartridge ....... Everybody wants one.

This lineup was recently seen somewhere in BC waiting for their 375 Ruger.

It's also rumoured that the fellow, third from the right, wears a pink tutu. :bigHug:

Just razzin ya Gatehouse. I think a hatfull of 760 should be the ticket in that one. I foregot to mention the STW is shooting bugholes with fireforming loads. Hope its as good with full power stuff.

Not quite ...... I just this week sent an action out your way for a 22" stainless bbl in 375/338.

What all is involved to complete that project?? Just a barrel swap, or are other mods needed? I have a .338 that may go that way someday, cuz you know I NEED one in Ontario.:D

Barrel swap only. It's on a long 700 action. Custom dies are the biggest hassle.

The 375/338 is a good one for a 98 Mauser as it is shorter than the H&H, so mods require to the action are minimal. I had one before on a 98 action and a Ruger #1 (375H&H) bbl cut off and rethreaded and chambered. It was a good combo. I should have kept it.

A good reason to go with the .375 Ruger, standard action with dies available.:), but maybe no reamers yet...
I'm using a standard action and dies are available. CH sells dies for $72.45US, and 338 brass is easy to get. It doesn't give the same velocities as the Ruger, but it does equal the H&H, besides I'm too wimpy to shoot the KING OF THE 375s anyways. ;)

Last I checked, Redding stocks 375 338 dies.

SO you are using a factory wood stock? how about iron sights? Or clean barrel?
I got my RCBS dies on the EE for under $100.

I have one of those old ugly B&C fiberglass stocks here. It's the one with the integrated sling loops in the stock. UGLY ---> yes, but it has a nice big fat butt and wide/straight comb. It will be a very good stock for a 375. I plan on changing the recoil pad and trying a 1" Limbsaver for a change.

For the time being, I don't have plans for iron sights, but that may change in the next couple of weeks. Any suggestions? I'd like to at least have a front sight on it for no other reason that it looks right. I have two Leupold VXIIIs here. One 1.5x5 and another 1.75x6. Both matte. I haven't decided which to use.
