IPSC Revolver :) Yes, I know ;)

How about open div for revolver? For old fat guys with old eyes.
Starline 38 SC is worth every penny. I tried the shortening method, great if you have the time.
If you using a BMT Mooner tool TK clips will kill it in time, to hard.

I need to get some Starline to try thanks for recommending it..

Suggest it to the ipsc RD for the next world shoot meeting. They just made pdo and pdo lite, why not a revolver open and revo optics too!

I had the most fun shooting that revolver match but it was also the most challenging. Now I need a fancy team shirt I guess. Or maybe just faster shoes.

The 929 is 8 round and moon clipped right out of the box. It's also 9mm so brass is cheaper. Whatever you decide on, with any S&W gun these days you might want to examine it in person due to lack of quality control.

I took a serious look at the revolver division for IPSC last year. After watching a few guys shoot it in NB last year and a local guy shooting it here in NS, I just can't ever see doing it. Revolver fun for PPC or steel (bought a GP100 for those), but it looks painful and not much fun for IPSC. To each his own though

+ 1 here. Love to shoot revolvers, have a S&W 686, a Ruger GP 100 and a Dan Wesson 715, with 2, 4, 6 and 8 barrels. But for IPSC, no thanks...

The 627 is the answer ;) can use from .357Mag to .38SC ;)

And yes, - Revolver Optics would be a fun division..... ;)

I shoot a 929 with optics in ICORE. I also shoot the same gun at Level 1 and 2 IPSC matches. Don’t win the Open
Division, but have fun and can usually beat one or two auto loaders. Shoot what you enjoy!

Best to think of the 929 as a platform for further work. It's hard to recommend when I've shot the odd IPSC match with it. I have to give a disclaimer everytime someone asks me how it shoots and how they want to get one. If it's done right the 929 can be a great shooter. The TK action job is super nice (and no I don't have one, just got to try one)

If you are new to the 929 the first thing you need to do is pull every single screw out and add blue locktite.
Never had to say that about any other S&W revolver.

Changed my hammer to TK Custom bobbed. Wow, much faster hammer drop. Hammer aslo came with 11lb trigger rebound spring and ext. firing pin. Strickly icore open gun as it has c-more on it.
