Has anyone shortened their Gen 2 18.5" barrel / shoud?
Why would you ruin a non restricted rifle to make it restricted when you can sell it and buy a restricted version for less money?

If you shorten the barrel, it becomes restricted (or actually I think the barrel is now prohibited)
Shortening a barrel to less than 18.5 inches makes the barrel prohibited, even if the firearm itself is already restricted, and the change would not otherwise cause its classification to change (like an AR for instance). In other words, it's not a thing.
Don't be silly Gatehouse. Of course it would have to be done by a Smith, verified and registered as a restricted...

What’s really silly is doing all this and ending up with a prohibited barrel instead of just buying a restricted gun in the first place.
Hmmm. But a prohibited gun can be re-barreled to restricted status...?
