New Kriss Vector

Shortening a barrel to less than 18.5 inches makes the barrel prohibited, even if the firearm itself is already restricted, and the change would not otherwise cause its classification to change (like an AR for instance). In other words, it's not a thing.

I am in for a 10mm one of these days. Too many other things on the go though right now. If you think the restricted version is fun firing one F/A will blow your mind.

Close. You may shorten a barrel to 18" but anything under that makes the barrel a prohibited item. Your semi-auto center-fire firearms become restricted with barrels less than 18.5".

Don't be silly Gatehouse. Of course it would have to be done by a Smith, verified and registered as a restricted...

What’s really silly is doing all this and ending up with a prohibited barrel instead of just buying a restricted gun in the first place.

What's really really silly is paying money to convert a non restricted firearm to restricted when you could sell it and buy the restricted version for less money.
And silly is the polite wording I must use to keep myself from getting another infraction.
