I had no idea there was IDPA in Canada. Hmmm
All I have to do now is sell my wife on the idea....
Hi everyone.
I am interested in shooting IPSC production in the next year.
I don’t have my RPAL yet or a pistol and I am wondering if it
is even worth starting the process with the proposed handgun
ban looming.
What advice would you give to someone like me who wants
to get into this sport in Canada right now?

Stop thinking about it and book your RPAL course. It's gonna be close to a 6-8mts before you get to take your first handgun to the range and unless you are a natural shot with guns, another 6mts of regular shooting to become proficient enough to do your black badge course. If you keep saying you'll sign up later, a whole year would have passed in a blink and you'd still be thinking about signing up when you could be having a heck of a time shooting matches had you gotten started today.

With any luck in 2019 you'll be able to shoot IPSC with a non-restricted PCC. License problem solved.
That is being worked on.He will still have to figure out the whole Black Badge issue though unless someone develops a long gun version of the course...
