Stag 10 or bcl 102

My Stag 10's mag release machining was out of spec in the lower and they had to send a $100 Norgon ambi catch so mags wouldn't fall out of the gun. It was unusable when I got it, yet the BCL Gen 1 worked 100% out of the box. You can get a lemon from almost anyone, and there were more than a few guys with out of spec Stags when they started shipping here. Thankfully Arms East hooked me and a few others up after a few weeks of going back and forth with Stag in Connecticut.

I've got both and shot two crates of Hirt through them in the last few months and I would choose my Stag every day of the week, but my BCL is far from junk. There's a place in the market for a cheaper semi DI 308 and a higher quality one at two very different price points, and the BCL is dropping to where it should have been in the first place.

I can't keep up with the trends here... ALG triggers are legit, Geissele is for larping. BCL is junk even though they warranty their stuff, but Wolverine WK is a budget bargain because they have warranty. M-lok is cool and keymod is not cool because its a bunch of dicks on your gun lol.

Holy Sh... - hang on, maybe it's a "green" gun, you know, made entirely from recycled newspaper? That is just wrong, mag catch? So what, 5 minutes. Gas block alignment? No big deal, maybe 10 minutes. Receiver eating itself near the breaching surfaces? Catastrophic. If you shoot it enough, maybe you'll be able to shoot around corners.

I would say Stag 10 if I didn't pick 3 of them up but unfortunately two of my Stag 10 are lemons. For the price, I expect both are working right out of the box but both didn't have the gas black installed properly from factory.

-My first range visit, both were manual loader, I pulled the charging handle to cycle every second rounds. Eye balling the gas black and reinstalled it again.
-Second range visit, both are working but still wasn't enough gas to hold the bolt open on last rounds, was tested with 4 different kind of magazines. It's either the buffertube spring is too heavy or still not enough gas unfortunately.

I put one one EE.

Good news, my BCL 102 has seen about 500 rounds with different ammunition, not a single problem right out of the box. I must be lucky.

What did you shoot? .308 or 7.62x51?

I've heard really bad and really good from both options....though it seems stag gets more of a pass because it doesn't have BCL stamped on the side of it. With the black Friday prices and domestic no-questions warranty from BCL I would lean in that direction. But with more and more competition, we the consumer win either way xD
I would have picked up a 102 with this sale if I had known it was coming....unfortunately I blew my load on parts for the MS build, and ammo for it to eat. :(

BCL102 cuz Canadian.

Supporting a junk product just because it's Canadian is a very Canadian thing to do... I've said it many times before, if NEA/BCL was an American company, they never would have gotten off the ground.

The Stag is the clear winner regardless of the price. Anything you save on the BCL, you're just going to lose in the end anyways. The recent major price drop shows that.

I have the BCL102 Gen ll, and it is very nice and has had no issues after 1500 rounds of Federal KorLok ammo. Have not tried any surplus or cheap ammo. Have also held, but not shot, a Stag 10. Stag is nicer in fit and finish, although the BCL is very nice too. For the price, I will stick with my BCL. Both are nice, but I only need one and for the price, to me, its worth it.

Keep in mind that the BCL is 'air cooled' (as per their advertising) which would preclude it from Space Force application. Not important for everyone I know.

What’s a larker???Ha ha

That would be LARPing, if you watch Garand Thumb you'll hear it a lot... although that description of a larker is hilarious. I read here yesterday that spending more than $100 for a trigger is only for "larping".

ALG ACT

Only LARPers and mall-ninjas spend hundreds of $ on triggers.

I mean i would like to say you're wrong... but i completely agree with you.
