Quebec poachers nailed in Sask!! 45K in fines!!

Huge issues here in NE Sask for years. Got a bit better when they went to a draw so they can’t illegally outfit as easily. The new trick is to apply for an easily drawn forest zone and hunt the adjacent farmland. A group was busted last week doing this. Guys in the background piping up en francais to the group leader being questioned. Investigating CO is fluent in French.

I have a question for the Sask. DNR folks, if you had enough evidence of wrong-doing and what was likely to happen to get a tracking warrant, why did it take them two weeks to make a check on those boys, letting a hundred birds & game animals perish unnecessarily. As far as I'm concerned they were just as stupid as the culprits and deserve the same clout up the side of the head.

“I present my apology to the court about my clients who got a little enthusiastic about the nature in Saskatchewan,” said Masson

They should of been tossed in jail.
The lawyer makes the apology for the dirty rotten scoundrels?
The fines funds are already in a trust fund?
So money is of no concern for these folks?

Used to be quite common for Quebeckers to whip out west for a little sport. These aren't the first to be caught and fined.

Grizz

Used to see a few Quebec plates ripping up the fields around here every November, shooting deer in town and on the golf course, and running down coyotes with their trucks.

They were made to feel very.....uncomfortable, never been back.

There is still more out here
But they got clever now as the base man supplies sask plated trucks

Should have been $45 large per person.
I doubt this was a first offence.
Are they allowed to bunt back home, I was disgusted and didn’t finish reading the article in the JAW.
Rob

for the ban in the juridiction of the offender they need to be part of the extra program where a few states and provinces are part of it but i do not work in that field anymore but quebec nor bc was part of it. it may have changed since ...

It used to be real bad around here twenty years ago. Our community was always on high alert when the quebec plated vehicles showed up. The wardens were very busy handing out tickets. I was on a ride along as a kid and I remember the warden checking rifles. The quebecers were still in their vehicles handing the rifles out the window and the one guy said "hey be careful with that its loaded". Turned out all their guns were loaded. Hunt was over.
